In this study, the noncompetitive and competitive adsorption process of copper (II) and nickel (II) ions on the natural zeolite were examined in simulated wastewater in a batch system with respect to concentration, pH and temperature. Optimum pH values were found as 5,0 for adsorption of copper and nickel ions on the zeolite. The effect of initial concentration and ambient temperature on the yield of adsorption was examined at this pH value.

In this study, we determined the in vitro inhibitory effects of metal ions such as Cu2+, Cd2+, Ag+, and Co2+ on GST enzyme activity. For this aim, GST was purified from C. tarichi Pallas liver with 37.36% yield and 29.304 EU/mg specific activity using the chromatographic method. The Vmax values of liver GST were determined for CDNB and GSH to be 1.245 and 0.562 EU/mL, respectively, and the Km values were found 0.89 and 0.06 mM, respectively, using the Lineweaver–Burk plot.

In the past decades, research was carried out to find cost-efficient alternatives to Protein A chromatography as a capture step in monoclonal antibody (mAb) purification processes. In this work, polyethylene glycol (PEG) precipitation has shown promising results in the case of mAb yield and purity. Especially with respect to continuous processing, PEG precipitation has many advantages, like low cost of goods, simple setup, easy scalability, and the option to handle perfusion reactors

Mechanochemical activation and steam-assisted interzeolite transformation offer a simple, fast and cost-efficient synthesis route to gmelinite (GME) zeolite. The use of faujasite (FAU) as the parent zeolite precursor facilitates the reaction and results in high yields of high-quality GME in less than 20 h under optimized conditions. The accessible porosity and amounts of stacking-faults were determined by N2 physisorption and XRD analysis, respectively.

The higher yield was recorded in Qaa trial with 255 g/m2 for LR31 and 244 g/m2 produced by LR32, while 211 and 200 g/m2 were recorded in Rihane-3 and Assi checks respectively. Principal components analysis allowed to distinguish several landraces that were clustered next to the checks sharing similar features of plant height, spike length and yield per m2 .

The palladium-catalyzed reaction between isomeric cyclododec-2-en-1-yl acetates and primary aliphatic alcohols was found to result in high yields of the reaction products obtained. The selectivity with respect to cyclododec-2- en-1-yl ethers formed as reaction products ranged from 73% to 93%. The kinetics of the reaction of acetoxycyclododec-2- enes with alcohols was studied within the temperature range of 328–358 K. A kinetic equation best fitting the experimental data was provided.

In the presence of water and 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane, several aldehydes and cyclic ketones underwent efficient Knoevenagel condensation with malononitrile and ethyl cyanoacetate to produce the respective α.β -unsaturated systems within fairly short time periods. As a result, high yields of conjugated products were easily obtained. Products could be engaged in a Gewald reaction, either stepwise or in situ, to produce efficiently their respective 2-aminothiophenes within 4–7 h.

1-(Benzothiazol-2-yl)-3-phenylthiourea 2 was prepared and treated with hydrazonoyl chlorides 3a–e to yield the corresponding 5-(benzothiazol-2-ylimino)-1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives 6a–e, respectively. Reaction of the thiourea derivative 2 with ethyl 2-chloro-3-oxobutanoate 9 afforded the corresponding 2-(benzothiazol-2-ylimino)thiazole5-carboxylate derivative 11. The newly synthesized heterocyclic derivatives were confirmed from their elemental and spectral analyses.

A series of novel thiazoles and 1,3-thiazine derivatives were synthesized in good yield via reaction of ethyl 3-(1-(2-thiocarbamoylhydrazono)ethyl)-1,5-diphenyl-1H -pyrazole-4-carboxylate with hydrazonoyl halides and arylidenemalononitriles, respectively. The structure of the newly synthesized products was elucidated via elemental analysis, spectral data, and alternative routes whenever possible. Moreover, the antiviral screening of the products was evaluated and the results revealed that some of them have strong to moderate potency against the rabies virus compared with the reference drug.

Powdery mildew caused by the fungal pathogen Erysiphe necator is a global disease that reduces yield and quality in grapes (Vitis vinifera L.). Most grape cultivars are susceptible to this pathogen and thus the selection of powdery mildew resistant cultivars is a major objective of grape breeding programs. In this study, we evaluated powdery mildew resistance of a diverse set of 28 commonly cultivated local and international V. vinifera cultivars after artificial inoculations with Erysiphe necator.

The study was carried out to evaluate fifty-six accessions/species suitable for industrial purpose. Understanding the bioactive compound diversity among both the shatavari species, Asparagus racemosus (AR) and A. adscendens (AA) are an important species for crop development. Sufficient variation for bioactive compounds (shatavarin IV) were registered in both the species. AR and AA confined average 22.84 µg g–1 and 117.74 µg g–1 shatavarin IV, respectively. The A. adscendens produced about five-folds higher shatavarin IV content as compared to A. racemosus.

In this study, encapsulation processes of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) or sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) monomers into the cavity of β -cyclodextrin (β -CD) were applied to synthesize mono- and bis (indolyl)methylmalononitrile derivatives by a one-pot three-component reaction of an aldehyde, malononitrile, and indole in an aqueous solution. These two inclusion complexes proved to be superior to CTAB or SDS individually, as cationic or anionic surfactants, respectively, for accessing high yields of pure products within shorter reaction times.

One-pot synthesis of novel quinoline- and quinolone-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles has been performed from the key intermediates, quinoline- and quinolone-substituted propargyl derivatives 1–3 (48%–88% yields). The antioxidant properties of the newly synthesized compounds, 1a–1c, 2a–2c, and 3a–3c, were evaluated by monitoring DPPH (2,2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging abilities, metal chelating effects, and reducing power. The scavenging effects of compounds on the free radical decreased in the order of 3b > 3a > 1b and were found to be 36.3%, 34.9%, and 27.
