The objective of the project was to portray memories of the Millennium Drought period through the development of artworks and this was initially undertaken with a photoshoot in January 2014. The project marries fine art methodologies with digital media and contributes to contemporary art practices that re-imagine the ways that weather can impact the environment and inhabitants living on the land. The artworks created are overall a documentation of my stories and memories from North East Victoria.

This novel phenomenon, initially identified from analysis of RNA-seq data, suggests intriguing new levels of gene expression regulation. However, the mechanism underlying naturally occurring transcriptional readthrough, as well as its regulatory consequences, still remain elusive. Furthermore, the readthrough response to stress has thus far not been investigated outside of mammalian species, and the occurrence of readthrough in many physiological and disease conditions remains to be explored.

Long term preservation of living ovarian tissues is a critical approach in human reproductive medicine as well as in the conservation of rare animal genotypes. Compared to single cell preservation, optimization of protocols for tissues is highly complex because of the diversity of cells responding differently to non-physiological conditions.

Present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of thiourea application on the productivity of lentil in rain fed conditions of central India. The lentil crop was grown with different magnitudes of the thiourea. The results of the study revealed that, the applications of thiourea @ 500 ppm followed by thiourea @ 1000 ppm at pre flowering and pod initiation stages were significantly improved the growth and yield of lentil. The plant height (42.

Red firespike (Odontonema strictum) is a tropical flowering plant that has a potential as a new flowering potted plants for its attractive red inflorescence. Flowering and morphology of red firespike were evaluated in response to photoperiod. In Expt. 1, morphology and growth characteristics of firespike were evaluated in response to photoperiod. Plants were propagated from semi-softwood cuttings and grown under long days (LD). Plants were exposed to short days (SD) of 9 h for 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 or 32 days. Plant height and growth index increased as the number of SD increased.

The variability in water retention in soil is primarily attributable to soil texture which is mainly responsible for pore geometry and discontinuity, when compared to soil mineralogy. Under field conditions soil moisture variability is a major constraint for proper soil water management. In the present study, a pot experiment was conducted with an objective of assessing the effect of soil texture on moisture content and its depletion rate. For this purpose, the soils of seven variable textures were pre saturated and allowed to follow a drying period up to 15 days.

This paper presents the results of laboratory model tests on the influence of deep excavation-induced lateral soil movements on the behavior of a model strip footing adjacent to the excavation and supported on reinforced granular soil. Initially, the response of the strip footings supported on un-reinforced sand and subjected to vertical loads (which were constant during the test) due to adjacent deep excavation-induced lateral soil movement were obtained.

Biosorption of cadmium and lead from aqueous solution by fresh water alga Anabaena sphaerica biomass
The present work represents the biosorption of Cd(II) and Pb(II) from aqueous solution onto the biomass of the blue green alga Anabaena sphaerica as a function of pH, biosorbent dosage, contact time, and initial metal ion concentrations. Freundlich, Langmuir, and Dubinin–Radushkevich (D–R) models were applied to describe the biosorption isotherm of both metals by A. sphaerica biomass. The biosorption isotherms studies indicated that the biosorption of Cd(II) and Pb(II) follows the Langmuir and Freundlish models. The maximum biosorption capacities (qmax) were 111.1 and 121.

An experimental study of bioethanol adsorption on natural Iranian clinoptilolite was carried out. Dynamic breakthrough curves were used to investigate the best adsorption conditions in bioethanol liquid phase. A laboratory setup was designed and fabricated for this purpose. In order to find the best operating conditions, the effect of liquid pressure, temperature and flow rate on breakthrough curves and consequently, maximum ethanol uptake by adsorbent were studied.

In this study, an extracellular alkali-thermostable phytase producing bacteria, Bacillus subtilis B.S.46, were isolated and molecularly identified using 16S rRNA sequencing. Response surface methodology was applied to study the interaction effects of assay conditions to obtain optimum value for maximizing phytase activity. The optimization resulted in 137% (4.627 U/mL) increase in phytase activity under optimum condition (56.5 C, pH 7.30 and 2.05 mM sodium phytate). The enzyme also showed 60–73% of maximum activity at wide ranges of temperature (47–68 C), pH (6.3–8.

The present work was carried out to evaluate the removal of Coomassie brilliant blue dye by adsorption onto a magnetized activated carbon nanocomposite (MNSA) prepared from Nigella sativa L. (NS) waste. Different techniques, including infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and nitrogen adsorption/desorption, were used to characterize MNSA to investigate its adsorption properties. Adsorption experiments were carried out by simultaneously optimizing four variables that usually present a strong effect in adsorption studies.

The present study focused on the use of the magnetic nanocomposite NiFe2 O4 /GO (GO - Graphene oxide) as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of congo red (CR). The NiFe2 O4 /GO was synthesized from NiFe2 O4 and GO via a facile route, and the structure of this nanocomposite was analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). By applying the response surface methodology, the profound relationship was found between variables (initial concentration, adsorbent dosage, and pH) and CR removal efficiency.
