This study was carried out to analyze and evaluate the change in the amount of suspended sediment on the Tien River in the Mekong Delta. Evaluating the sediment transport regime is a very important task to effectively serve the assessment of the level of evolution (erosion/accumulation) on the riverbed.

This study aims to examine the characteristics and to assess the hazardous level as well as the reusability of sewage sludge and river sediment from To Lich River (TLR) basin, which is the largest wastewater catchment in Hanoi. Sludge samples were collected from six manholes along Tran Binh Trong (TBT) and Thai Ha (TH) sewers in rainy and dry seasons.

This study has established and calibrated a three-dimensional system model with a combination of hydraulics-waves and suspended sediment transport with measured data in the study area. Based on the calculated scenarios for the flood and the dry seasons, the results show the occurrence of MTZs in the riparian zone of the Mekong river with typical suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) ranging from 0.04–1.0 kg/m3 dry season and 0.2–1.1 kg/m3 flood season.

This study investigated trace essential metals (Cu, Zn and Cr) and non-essential metals (Pb, Cd and Hg) in water, sediment and tissues of water spinach, snake head fish and swamp eel from the Saigon River. Sampling was conducted from January to December 2004 at three sites. Three water and sediment samples, edible parts of twenty water spinach (Ipomea aquatica) samples (leaves and stems), twenty snake head fish (Channa striata) and twenty swamp eels (Monopterus albus) were collected at each site.

The geochemical behavior of Pb in terrestrial and coastal water systems significantly influences Pb biogeochemical cycling and pollutant exchange at the land-sea continuum. An ideal case study of Pb environmental geochemistry is Galveston Bay, an anthropogenic estuary exposed to industrial runoff, wastewater and shipping vessel spills but also fed by natural rivers.

This paper proposes a hydrodynamic/sediment model for simulating bedload sediment through a river section. Firstly, flow characteristics such as depth-averaged velocity were obtained by solving the governing equation, which is derived from the Reynolds equations and allows for taking into account the gravity, bed shear stress, turbulent diffusion force and secondary flow in calculations.

Sudden shifting of the ocean floor due to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and submarine slumping. open ocean: short heights, long wavelengths (100 km), and long periods 400500 mph!!! shallow water: their length shortens and their height increases dramatically. These are NOT tidal waves
