Sustaining creativity through technology

The model explains the role of productive social networking in fostering creativity and innovation among employees and employee groups. It also focuses on the requirement of agility in human resources or talent to have creative solutions in the direction of sustainable development. The study proposes concept of agile change management with appropriate use of technology.

This special issue aims to present an overview of how creativity and cognition can be supported, managed and sustained through the use of technology. Three different roles of technology are presented. The first three papers highlight the potential of semi-automated creativity, the fourth paper how social media can be leveraged as a creativity platform and the fifth and final papers the use of technology-integrated intelligibility catchers and 3D technology as cognitive tools to enhance meaningful co-construction of new knowledge.

Creativity is vital for every part of the economy. The ability to generate a diverse set of business options through new ideas is a central feature of innovation in all firms and, as such, is central to sustained economic growth. Design, as a structured creative process, is an important competitive tool for firms in many sectors, although design activities can take many forms across those different sectors. The UK led the world in recognising the significance of creativity and design. The Design Council was set up in 1944.

We should support projects that improve the efficiency and productivity of public media operations. Initiatives that help stations raise more money, reduce overhead and operating costs, and attain operating scale will increase the effectiveness, sustainability, and impact of stations whether funding is reduced or increased.  In this context of uncertainty, the Three Ds are more important than ever: Dialogue is at the core of station impact.
