  • The present study was conducted to investigate the impact of textile dye on the early seedling stage of 3 crops: barley, maize, and wheat. Seeds were imbibed in different concentrations of textile dye for 12 h and were then grown in a controlled growth room for 8 days with a related dye solution.

  • The extensive use of fascinating colorful dyes during textile manufacturing indirectly causes severe environmental problem. These dyes exert toxic effects on terrestrial and aquatic life forms, imparting photosynthesis and other metabolic processes. Color is an escalating problem in industrial wastewater.   • This study investigated the Photo-Fenton process in textile wastewater treatment by using textile synthesis wastewater made of Symafix Red Dye solution. The aim of the study was to investegate the factors that influent to the photo-Fenton process such as contact time, pH, H2O2 and Fe2+conectrations, and UVexposure in order to research the optimum values of this process.Treatment of textile wastewater was carried out at ambient temperature in a batch reactor.

  • The research investigated the performance of combined pro cess (flocculation pretreatment-pho - to catalysis). The characteristics of nano flocculation and photocataly were evaluated by simulated dye and surfactant wastewater. In the coagulation and settling period, decolorization rate of five dyes wastewater by nano flocculant was higher than 95%. In the photocatalytic period, degradation of twelve sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate reached 33%.

  • Research on bio-activated carbon wastewater treatment material prepared from Macadamia shells using KOH activating agent at the rate of 1KOH: 1 piece of activated carbon is carried out through influencing factors of temperature and time. The research result of Methylene blue (MB) absorption ability at respectively optimal temperature and time of 200oC and 60 minutes of activated carbon shows that 1g of activated carbon will absorb 91,50mg of Methylene Blue.

  • Research on bio-activated carbon wastewater treatment material prepared from Macadamia shells using H3PO4 activating agent at the rate of 2H3PO4:1 piece of activated carbon is carried out through influencing factors of temperature and time. The research result of Methylene blue (MB) absorption ability at respectively optimal temperature and time of 500oC and 60 minutes of activated carbon shows that 1g of activated carbon will absorb 116,91mg of Methylene Blue. The result shows that the color treating efficiency of the Methylene Blue (MB) is 97.

  • Isolation and identification of the bacteria from textile effluent and evaluation of their ability to decolorize toxic sulfonated azo dye, Direct Red 81 were studied. A total of four bacterial strains were isolated from textile wastewater and their decolorizing activity was measured spectrophotometrically after incubation of the isolates for 24 h. in mineral salt medium modified with 100 ppm Direct Red 81 and supplemented with yeast extract. The bacterial strains were identified belonging to Raoultella planticola strain ALK314 (DR1), Klebsiella sp.

  • In this study, the effluent wastewater samples collected from dyestuff industrial area have been examined for biological treatment. The rate of decolorization was assessed using spectrophotometer at 508 nm and the percentage of decolorization was ascertained. The metabolites of Direct Red 81 (DR81) obtained after biodegradation were determined by HPLC. In order to improve the decolorization process, the effect of process factors like pH, temperature, agitation and dye wastewater concentration on dye decolorization was studied.

  • The aim of the study was to isolate and identify the salt tolerant growth promoting bacteria from rhizosphere soil of Sesuvium portulacastrum and also from the soils of dye and textile effluent contaminated sites (Andipalayam, Orathupalayam, Mangalam and Palayakottai villages of Tirupur District, Tamil Nadu) to remediate the salt contaminated soil. On total twenty five strains were selected based on the distinct morphological characters on R2A agar medium supplemented with 3 % NaCl.

  • This study was aimed to investigate the potential of single culture of fungi Aspergillus niger, to decolorize reactive dyes from synthetic solution. Different parameters such as pH, time, temperature, agitation rate and various carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts source, were optimized for decolorization of reactive blue 19 and reactive black 5 dyes. Aspergillus niger showed maximum dye decolorization under optimum condition and found to be more efficient when added in the dye solution of pH 8 and 10 with agitation at 130 rpm and incubation time for 7 days with 25°C.
