The aim of this research is to produce information on decision making in relation to fertiliser use. This information can be used in the Game Theory model to calculate optimal strategies on phosphorus fertiliser application amounts for the individuals within the group. If the results indicate a benefit to the individual and the community as a whole, and are seen as practical, then on a catchment wide basis this should lead to changes in management practices that will minimise phosphorus pollution of the Hopkins River catchment’s waterways.

This study explored the gaps in the literature through a qualitative study with a small group of VET practitioners placed within the one TAFE site, who, between them, showed some variety within their background and practice. Seven VET teachers were interviewed regarding their current use of eLearning within their teaching practice; including current understandings and use of technology, what issues they experienced, and how they felt the use of e-Learning had impacted them and their learners, specifically in relation to learner engagement.

The objectives of the research "Fashion communication and ageist sentiment in the Australian fashion industry" were to firstly raise awareness of the issues confronting this mature consumer group and secondly challenge the conventional assumptions about the aesthetic viability of designing apparel for the mature women’s market. The project asked two research questions: What problems are associated with design for the mature women’s fashion market in Australia? How could fashion communication make a contribution to address those problems?

The thesis investigates the nature of this developmental process by employing a constructivistinterpretive research methodology and using qualitative research methods. The empirical data was drawn from group discussions and face-to-face interviews with two distinct cohorts of women. The first cohort comprised twenty-two participants, of which five were adolescent women aged fourteen to sixteen years. The thesis focused only on examining those women who were financially successful and not others.

Doctoral thesis summary: Solutions for developing managerial human resources in Vietnam rubber group
The dissertation aims to systematize and clarify theories on managerial human resources development in Vietnam Rubber Group under the economic management approach; analyze and evaluate the current situation of managerial human resource development in Vietnam Rubber Group, then make some major recommendations on managerial human resource development in Vietnam Rubber Group (with the focus on top executives and middle managers under succession planning who are managed by the direct State administration agency) in the period to 2025.

In this study, COMAC nuclear data uncertainties have been propagated on the BEAVRS benchmark using a two-step APOLLO2/CRONOS2 scheme, where APOLLO2 is the lattice code used to resolve Boltzmann equation within assemblies using a high number of energy groups, and CRONOS2 is the code resolving the 3D full core diffusion equation using only four energy groups.

ALTRUISM AND THE FAMILY FIRM : SOME THEORY Columns E and F explore the impact of varying the sample definition. In Column E, the basic model is estimated on public schools only, while in Column F the 18 MSAs that have only a single district are excluded. The choice-peer group interaction coefficient is again negative in each of these specifications, significantly so (and with a substantially larger point estimate than in the basic specifications) in the latter case.

The goal of this paper is to describe all closed, aspherical Riemannian manifolds M whose universal covers M have a nontrivial amount of symmetry. By this we mean that Isom(M ) is not discrete. By the well-known theorem of Myers-Steenrod [MS], this condition is equivalent to [Isom(M ) : π1 (M )] = ∞. Also note that if any cover of M has a nondiscrete isometry group, then so does its universal cover M . Our description of such M is given in Theorem 1.2 below. The proof of this theorem uses methods from Lie theory, harmonic maps,...

We prove the strong Macdonald conjecture of Hanlon and Feigin for reductive groups G. In a geometric reformulation, we show that the Dolbeault cohomology H q (X; Ωp ) of the loop Grassmannian X is freely generated by de Rham’s forms on the disk coupled to the indecomposables of H • (BG). Equating the two Euler characteristics gives an identity, independently known to Macdonald [M], which generalises Ramanujan’s 1 ψ1 sum. For simply laced root systems at level 1, we also find a ‘strong form’ of Bailey’s 4 ψ4 sum. ...

In the first three parts of this series, we considered quadratic, cubic and quartic rings (i.e., rings free of ranks 2, 3, and 4 over Z) respectively, and found that various algebraic structures involving these rings could be completely parametrized by the integer orbits of an appropriate group representation on a vector space. These orbit results are summarized in Table 1.

We obtain lower bounds for Selmer ranks of elliptic curves over dihedral extensions of number fields. Suppose K/k is a quadratic extension of number fields, E is an elliptic curve defined over k, and p is an odd prime. Let K− denote the maximal abelian p-extension of K that is unramified at all primes where E has bad reduction and that is Galois over k with dihedral Galois group (i.e., the generator c of Gal(K/k) acts on Gal(K− /K) by inversion). We prove (under mild hypotheses on p) that if the Zp -rank of the pro-p Selmer group Sp...

We establish new results and introduce new methods in the theory of measurable orbit equivalence, using bounded cohomology of group representations. Our rigidity statements hold for a wide (uncountable) class of groups arising from negative curvature geometry.

We classify the measures on SL(k, R)/ SL(k, Z) which are invariant and ergodic under the action of the group A of positive diagonal matrices with positive entropy. We apply this to prove that the set of exceptions to Littlewood’s conjecture has Hausdorff dimension zero. 1. Introduction 1.1. Number theory and dynamics. There is a long and rich tradition of applying dynamical methods to number theory.

In Memory of Dick and Brian Abstract A group is locally finite if every finite subset generates a finite subgroup. A group of linear transformations is finitary if each element minus the identity is an endomorphism of finite rank. The classification and structure theory for locally finite simple groups splits naturally into two cases—those groups that can be faithfully represented as groups of finitary linear transformations and those groups that are not finitary linear. This paper completes the finitary case.

This paper settles a problem raised at the end of the seventies by J.L. Alperin [Al1], E.C. Dade [Da] and J.F. Carlson [Ca1], namely the classification of torsion endo-trivial modules for a finite p-group over a field of characteristic p. Our results also imply, at least when p is odd, the complete classification of torsion endo-permutation modules. We refer to [CaTh] and [BoTh] for an overview of the problem and its importance in the representation theory of finite groups.

Dedicated to the memory of Gert Kjærg˚ Pedersen ard Abstract In the process of developing the theory of free probability and free entropy, Voiculescu introduced in 1991 a random matrix model for a free semicircular system. Since then, random matrices have played a key role in von Neumann algebra theory (cf. [V8], [V9]). The main result of this paper is the follow(n) (n) ing extension of Voiculescu’s random matrix result: Let (X1 , . . . , Xr ) be a system of r stochastically independent n × n Gaussian self-adjoint random matrices as in Voiculescu’s random matrix paper...
