  • Sheep is one of the ungulates and critical for animal husbandry development like on grassland, whereas there are few pieces of research about their heat responses to date. In the present study, we selected two sheep breeds consisting of Mongolian sheep with evolving cold resistibility and Dorper sheep specifically bred for heat tolerance to explore how the different breeds of sheep positively respond to heat conditions. Three Mongolian sheep and 3 Dorper sheep underwent 37 ℃ stress (2 h per day) during 4 weeks.

  • The fiber composite was found to have excellent biocompatibility with significant cell growth, while the MTX-loaded PVA/HAP/FA composite showed cytotoxicity against A459 cells. The prepared fibrous composites will serve as a superior biomaterial for osteosarcoma-diseased bone repair after evidencing of in-vivo and clinical trials.

  • The evidence for a complete cellular remnant removal was shown through Hematoxylin and Eosin staining and DNA measurements. The AAM powder was prepared by mechanical disruption under reduced temperatures, which resulted in an AAM particle size in the range of 100 mm. In vitro cytotoxicity testing via extraction demonstrated that AAM had no toxicity on human adipose derived stem cells (hADSCs).

  • A multiple epidermis in the green stems of Parkinsonia species has been described; however, there are disagreements among authors with regard to origin and tissues involved. The aims of this study were to identify the origin and development of the epidermis and cortex of P. praecox and relate these to possible adaptations to arid environments. Samples from new branches, to the stem, were removed and prepared using two embedding techniques. Our results show that the epidermis is simple, but periclinal divisions start far from the apical meristem.

  • Artificially fabricated hydroxyapatite (HAP) shows excellent biocompatibility with various kinds of cells and tissues which makes it an ideal candidate for a bone substitute material. In this study, hydroxyapatite nanoparticles have been prepared by using the wet chemical precipitation method using calcium nitrate tetra-hydrate [Ca(NO3)2.4H2O] and di-ammonium hydrogen phosphate [(NH4)2HPO4] as precursors. The composite scaffolds have been prepared by a freeze-drying method with hydroxyapatite, chitosan, and gelatin which form a 3D network of interconnected pores.

This nonessential metal is a threat to the patients of chronic renal disorders, as it is easily retained in their plasma and quickly accumulates in different tissues. Thus, there is great need to remove it from the aqueous environment. In this study, Al3+ imprinted semiinterpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN)-based cryogel composite was prepared and applied for the purification of environmental and drinking water samples from aluminum.

  • The presence of heavy metals in environmental waters having an important place in the industrial waste is a major threat to viability. Heavy metals are transported to humans through the ecological cycle, damaging many tissues and organs. In recent years, agricultural and food waste can be used to remove heavy metals. At the present study, magnetically modified coffee grains which are alternative to conventional particle systems were prepared and heavy metal removal performances were investigated. The coffee grains used were magnetically modified by contact with water-based magnetic fluid.

  • In this study, a fibrous bone tissue engineering scaffold was produced using poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA). Different concentrations (20%, 25%, and 30%) of PLGA (PLA:PGA 75:25) (Mw = 66,000–107,000) were wet spun using coagulation baths composed of different ratios (75:25, 60:40, 50:50) of isopropanol and distilled water. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and in vitro degradation studies were performed to characterize the fibrous PLGA scaffolds.

It allows for expression analysis from intact tissues and monitoring of protein synthesis in vivo. This study focused, in particular, on two species which are Cyprinus carpio and Tilapia zilli due to their existence in the Iraqi internal waters. Alcian blue and Alizarin red have been used in staining the samples of study. This study was prepared to describe the differences between Cyprinus carpio and Tilapa zilli families. Some of the anatomic features have been appeared by which the diversity and the difference can be studied in the muscular tissue and the skeleton for both species and some other species of the study.

  • Dietary selenium supplementation in the poultry has been regularly practiced using the inorganic and organic forms to enhance the growth and antioxidant defence system. These forms have the limitations of having narrow margin of safety and non specific binding to tissue proteins, hence an alternate form of selenium i.e. nano selenium having greater potential as poultry and livestock feed supplement with higher bioavailability, higher margin of safety and seven fold lower acute toxicity was prepared using starch, ascorbic acid and bovine serum albumin.
