Acute renal injury (AKI) caused by hypotension often occurs in elderly patients after gastrointestinal tumor surgery. Although vasoactive drugs can increase effective filtration pressure, they may increase renal vascular resistance and reduce renal blood flow. The effect of methoxamine on renal function is not clear.

The infusion of magnesium sulfate is well known to reduce arterial pressure and attenuate hemodynamic response to pneumoperitoneum. This study aimed to investigate whether different doses of magnesium sulfate can effectively attenuate the pneumoperitoneum-related hemodynamic changes and the release of vasopressin in patients undergoing laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery.

Laparoscopic nephrectomy is a preferred technique for living kidney donation. However, positivepressure pneumoperitoneum may have an unfavorable effect on the remaining kidney and other distant organs due to inflamed vascular endothelium and renal tubular cell injury in response to increased systemic inflammation. Early detection of vascular endothelial and renal tubular response is needed to prevent further kidney injury due to increased intraabdominal pressure induced by pneumoperitoneum.

Based on the hypothesis that resistance to VSD varies in cocoa and that rootstocks can influence VSD resistance of scions through grafting, the present research aimed to assess the VSD-incidence on cocoa scions of Sulawesi local clones in the field after grafting onto rootstocks from cocoa resistant genotype trees, to evaluate the effect on VSD-incidence in the scions on various cocoa rootstocks and to study whether a clone with proved resistance to VSD will result in an equivalent resistance if it is used as a rootstock.

Thirty-five of them, who presented with systolic HF and were not eligible for HTx due to RFPH, were included in the study (31 men aged 55.1 ± 7.4 years). Post-spinal anesthesia hypotension during cesarean delivery is caused by decreased systemic vascular resistance due to the blockage of the autonomic nerves, which is further worsened by inferior vena cava (IVC) compression by the gravid uterus. This study aimed to assess whether peak velocity and diameter of the IVC below the xiphoid or right common femoral vein (RCFV) in the inguinal region, as measured on ultrasound, could reflect the degree of IVC compression and further identify parturients at risk of post-spinal hypotension.

The clinical range of central venous pressure (CVP) (typically 5 to 15mmHg) is much less than the range of mean arterial blood pressure (60 to 120mmHg), suggesting that CVP may have little impact on estimation of systemic vascular resistance (SVR).
