NAME : Nguyễn thị Dương Hạnh & Bùi thị Kim Thanh CLASS : 30A TASK 2 : 1/ Identify the characteristics of a good teacher 2/ The features of Teaching & Learning Process ************************************** 2/ The features of Teaching & Learning process Teaching is an active process in which one person shares information with others to provide them with the information to make behavioral changes . Learning is the process of assimilating information with a resultant change in behavior . Teaching & Learning process is a planned interaction that promotes behavioral change that is not a result of maturation coincidence . Having many years of experience does not guarantee expert teaching. Teachers must prepare to teach a wide range of students in term of interest, motivation and modifies classroom techniques to better serve the needs fo students. Thus, the describing features of Teaching and Learning are followed below ; - Provide lesson plans & teaching and learning sequences . - Present clear, specific goals for learning with performance criteria . - Link to and biuld on existing knowledge, skills and understadings . - Use unstructured and strutured oral work as a key medium for learning . - Include strategies to make explicit the assumptions that are implicit in english language for multilingual students . - Model and encourage the use of appropriate metalanguage . - Entail explicit or direct instruction . - Include strategies for the scaffolding of new learning for students . - Include modelling of new learning accompanied by detailed explanations . - Provide opportunities to pratise skills to acchieve automaticity and to increase accuracy and fluency . - Provide opportunities to apply knowledge, skills and understadings in a range of authentic contexts . - Include effective questioning techniques . - Include strategies for developing high order comprehension skills . - Provide an embedded but systematic approach to teaching technical processes . - Include strategies for providing timely and appropriate feedback . - Allow for cooperative learning according to the nature of tha task and the learning needs of individual students . - Offer differentiated leves of teaching, tasks and materials according to the learning purpose and the students' needs . - Include strategies for intensive instruction for students with particular learning needs including learning needs including english language instruction for multilingual students . - Embed the use of digital technologies in learning . - Operate in a socially supportive and productive class room environtment .
