School uniform
When I was a school girl, children always objected to wearing school uniform but teachers
were keen on it because they said all of us looked alike. Otherwise, they said, children would
compete with each other and the poorer children would be ashamed because people would see
straight away how poor they were. In recent years, however, many schools have given up the
idea of making children wear uniform but, funnily enough, getting that children can wear
what they like, they have adopted a uniform of their own. Once a journalist came to a school,
he found out a big surprise. Can you guess? All the boys and girls at the school were dressed in
jeans!
