Legend: T : k1, yo, k1 into the same stitch S : s1, k2tog, psso [ : ssk \ : k2tog I : k stitch O : yo R : edge stitches : k2 in right and wrong rows z : p on the right side, k on the wrong side U : slip 2 stitches as if to k2tog, k 3rd stitch, slip the 2 slipped sts over _ : slip stitch, slip next stitch, k, psso ` : k3tog Instructions: Cast on 5 stitches R1 k2, yo, k1, yo k2 R2 k2, p1,k1, p1, k2 Continue with the Chart A, first the right side pattern, then the left side pattern (the Repeat is in the area marked red), always repeat row 11 to 18.

Now bind off as follows: Knotty –bind off - pattern: * k2tog, place thread in front of the left needle, slip the new stitch back onto the left needle with the thread still in front, place thread behind the left needle* This Edge becomes elastic by itsself and doesn’t need to be knitted very loosely.
