Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is concerned with the efficient numerical solution of the partial differential equations that describe fluid dynamics. CFD techniques are commonly used in the many areas of engineering where fluid behavior is an important factor. Traditional fields of application include aerospace and automotive design, and more recently, bioengineering and consumer and medical electronics.

Chapter 15 – Organizational structure. After reading this chapter, you should be able to answer the following questions: What is an organization's structure, and what does it consist of? What are the major elements of an organizational structure? What is organizational design, and what factors does the organizational design process depend on?...

The dynamic behavior of nonuniform Euler-Bernoulli beams made of transversely functionally graded material under multiple moving forces is studied by the finite element method. The beam cross-section is assumed to vary in the width direction by two different types. A simple finite element formulation, accounting for variation of the material properties through the beam thickness and the shift in the physically neutral surface, is derived and employed in the study.

Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) has attracted so much attention of managers and scholars, but many aspects of this have not been studied yet. To fill this gap this study, we has applied three elements of employee's performance toward organization; knowledge sharing and job attitude as significant antecedents of OCB in an organization.

In this paper, nonlinear thermal responses of a small satellite in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) are analyzed using many-node model. The main elements of primary structure of the satellite include six rectangular cover plates and a solar array linking with satellite's body. These elements can be modeled as different lumped thermal nodes.

The group members developed a tree to identify fission product release phenomena by tracing failures of individual defense-in-depth barriers and added possible countermeasures against failure. For each elemental issue, they searched for technical problems by examining the phenomena, accident management actions, and regulatory aspects relevant to the mitigation features for containment, including mitigation strategies against containment bypass accidents.

This paper aims to investigate their e ects on the dynamic response of a slider-crank mechanism with two sliders and imperfect joints. Firstly, the mechanism is created in Solidworks and then it is simulated via nite element method in ANSYS. The dynamic simulation is conducted to evaluate the mentioned effect.

The authors have carried out studies on long term behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) column by numerical methods based on experimental data that is described by a visco-elastic model, and the age-adjusted effective modulus (AAEM) method is adopted to modelling creep behavior of the concrete core, which is evaluated by the Finite Element Method (FEM) combined Prony's series interpolation by using ANSYS software.

The current study measures the mechanical behavior of both natural and the monobloc elastomeric disc prosthesis (CadiscTM-L) by employing a finite element method (FEM) to study the fiber-reinforced constitutive formulation provided in the literature. The three-dimensional geometry was created by computed tomography (CT) scan imaging technique.

This paper presents a numerical approach at the mesoscale for the mechanical behavior of TRC composite under tensile loading. A 2-D finite element model was constructed in ANSYS MECHANICAL software by using the codes. The experimental results on basalt TRC composite from the literature were used as input data in the numerical model. As numerical results, the basalt TRC provides a strain-hardening behavior with three phases, depending on the number of basalt textile layers.

This paper combines the synergies of three mathematical and computational generalizations. The concepts of fractional calculus, memristor and information visualization extend the classical ideas of integro-differential calculus, electrical elements and data representation, respectively. The study embeds these notions in a common framework, with the objective of organizing and describing the "continuum" of fractional order elements (FOE).

This study shows that the stirrups corrosion should receive more attention in the serviceability limit state due to its considerable effect on flexural behavior. Based on a parametric study, it shows that the effect of the crosssection loss of tension reinforcements on the load-carrying capacity of the corroded beam is more significant than the bond strength reduction.

There are several types of tenodesis reconstruction designed for subtalar instability. However, no comprehensive comparison has been conducted among these procedures in terms of their correcting power so far. The objective of this study is to evaluate the biomechanical behaviors of 5 representative procedures through finite element analysis.
