Corporate profitability

This thesis contributes to three distinct areas. Firstly, it explores whether risk management has become the fifth arm of working capital. Secondly, it tests if the determinants of working capital affect the profitability of an organisation. Finally, it investigates the influence of working capital on corporate ratings. There is a significant contribution to the finance literature in these three different areas. In addition, there are methodological advances in this area.

This research investigates generational differences in Australian workers. In particular it focuses on changing trends and influences in the workplace and how different generations view and deal with these changes. The study focuses on Baby Boomers (born 1945-1963), Generation X (born 1964-1977) and Generation Y (born 1978 - 1994) across four industry sectors: Corporate, Education, Government and Not for Profit.

This paper attempts for a randomized trial of empirically investigating 50 SMEs in and around Bangalore, India and hypothetically reveals that most of them are not keen in associating with ongoing Government sponsored development programs, rather are interested in the formation of clusters to take up VCSR programs, agreeable for 1% to 2% of their net profit contributions, welcome the involvement of local NGOs and other consulting organizations for improved impact of VCSR and so on.
