Design methods

This paper presents methods for controlling a real model using the S7-400 controller with SCL language (Structured Control Language). The two controllers designed are the hybrid Neural Network Neural-PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) controller and the RBF (Radial Basis Function)- PID controller.

This research project explores the effectiveness of an auditory display prototype for the sonification of internet \(c{o_2}\) emissions to a small user group within their office context. To date, methods do not exist for the reporting of this information to users of personal computing while they perform simple internet enquiries. This thesis investigates the SPH capability available in the commercial Finite Element (FE) code LS-DYNA®, for water impact problems. Experiments have been conducted on rigid wedges impacting water, which were then simulated with the SPH method. Although certain limitations were experienced with the experimental results, a positive correlation was observed with the numerical technique, thus establishing SPH as a promising method for crashworthiness design.
