The first record of the family Cryptochetidae is given from Turkey. Cryptochetum grandicorne and C. jorgepastori were found in Turkey. Four original figures are presented. The species of the small family Cryptochetidae are little known (McAlpine, 1987; Pitkin, 1989; Nartshuk, 2000). Most of its representatives are know from the Old World tropics as 30 described species in the genus Cryptochetum have been described from the Old World (the relegation of the genus Librella McAlpine, 1976 to Cryptochetidae is rather questionable).

The productivity of apple in Jammu and Kashmir is 8.57 metric tons per hectare, when it is compared with the productivity of developed nations of the world this figure is very low and there is plenty of difference in the productivity. In order to curtail this gap a number of factors has to be reviewed seriously and address them priority wise. The factors of prime importance were identified as compatibility of pollen in apple orchards that actually determines the productivity of this most important fruit crop known as king of temperate fruits.

This paper presents the major findings of a recent study aiming at figuring out which verbal and non-verbal elements have been used in fast food ads in English and how effective they are on the consumption of the audience. The study drew on the Multimodal Interactional discourse analysis (Norris, 2004) as both theoretical and analytical framework. Two video ads of two well-known fast food chains in the world (Kentucky Fried Chicken andMcDonald’s) were analyzed.

India, the land of rich cultural heritage, has been known to the world for its vibrant arts and crafts since ancient time. Floor paintings are one of these art forms which are ritualistic part of ancient Indian culture. Aipan is one of the traditional folk arts of Kumaun region of Uttarakhand drawn on the floor, walls, etc. in the house. In the present study, aipan designs were explored for the designing of woven borders. Ten aipan designs (5 symmetrical and 5 asymmetrical in form) were selected from secondary sources and adapted to make them suitable for use in weaving.

In recent years, three-dimensional (3D) in vitro tumor models have become more common in cancer research across the world. Selecting scaffolds, seeding cells into the scaffolds, and culturing them are pivotal for the morphologies and proliferation of cancer cell lines. Therefore, this experience has developed a 3D tumor model based on co-culturing MCF-7 cells and fibroblasts (3:1) into gelatin-alginate scaffolds (3x3x5 mm3 ).
