Studies on nanoparticle-protein interaction have also not been studied. This would give information on ratio influence on the structural alteration of EGCg in EGCg-AuNPs and its functionality in vivo. Herein, the optimisation of EGCg-AuNPs will be determined with a large pool of stoichiometric synthesises of gold and EGCg. These optimised EGCg-AuNPs would then be studied with bovine serum albumin (BSA) for protein interactions, binding and thermodynamics.

Twenty one genotypes including check Krishna were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications during kharif-2017 at research farm of TCA, Dholi for estimation of genetic variability among them. Genotypes varied significantly for all the morpho-physiological characters indicating the presence of considerable variability among the genotypes. Significant bidirectional shift was observed in the mean values as compared to better check, thus provided scope for selection.

Nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a crucial transcription factor that regulates the expression of defensive antioxidants and detoxification enzymes in cells. In a previous study, we showed that expression of the Nrf2 gene is regulated by an epigenetic modification. Rauvolfia verticillata, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine widely used in China, possesses anticancer and antioxidant effects. In this study, we investigated how Nrf2 is epigenetically regulated by reserpine, the main active component in R. verticillata, in mouse skin epidermal JB6 P+ cells.

Connective tissue growth factor/hypertrophic chondrocyte specific gene product 24 (CTGF/Hcs24) promotes proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes in culture. We investigated the roles of two major types of mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) in the promotion of proliferation and differentiation by CTGF/Hcs24. Here we report the effects of the MAPKK/MEK 1/2 inhibitor, PD098059, and p38 MAPK inhibitor, SB203580, in a human chondrosarcoma-derived chondrocytic cell line (HCS-2/8) and rabbit growth cartilage (RGC) cells treated with CTGF/ Hcs24....

Yellow stem borer has been identified as a major insect pest of deepwater rice, causing severe yield losses. Bt gene(s) from Bacillus thuringiensis have been proven very effective in pest resistance program. The use of transgenic plants expressing Bt gene(s) is now occupied effective approach to control insect infestation. We have successfully introduced a synthetic cryIA(b) gene into embryogenic calli of a deepwater indica rice variety, Vaidehi, by using the biolistic method of transformation.

The cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) signaling pathway plays a major role in a number of pathophysio-logical conditions. However, there have been conflicting evidences regarding the action of cAMP/PKA on nuclear factor-jB(NF-jB). Inthis study, wehaveexplored the effect of cAMP/PKA on NF-jBactivity and determined its molecular mechanism. PKA activating agents or expression of thecatalyticsubunitofPKA(PKAc) inhibitedtheNF-jB-dependent reporter gene expression induced by tumor nec-rosis factora(TNFa). ...

Genes homologous to hydrogenase accessory genes are scattered over the whole genome in the cyanobacteriumSynechocystissp. PCC 6803. Deletion and insertion mutants of hypA1 (slr1675), hypB1 (sll1432), hypC, hypD, hypE and hypF were constructed and showed no hydrogenase activity. Involvement of the respective genes in maturation of the enzyme was con-firmed by complementation. Deletion of the additional homologueshypA2 (sll1078) and hypB2(sll1079) had no effect on hydrogenase activity. Thus, hypA1andhypB1are specific for hydrogenase maturation....

Elongation factor Ts (EF-Ts) is the guanine nucleotide-exchange factor for elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) that is responsible for promoting the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-programmed ribosome. The struc-ture of the Escherichia coliEF-Tu–EF-Ts complex reveals a protruding antiparallel coiled-coil motif in EF-Ts, which is responsible for the dimerization of EF-Ts in the crystal. In this study, the sequence encoding the coiled-coil motif in EF-Ts was deleted from the genome in Escherichia coli by gene replacement....

Previously, we isolated a 4-kDa peptide capable of binding to a 43-kDa receptor-like protein and stimulating protein kinase activity of the 43-kDa protein in soybean. Both of them were found to localize in the plasma membranes and cell walls. Here, we report the physiological effects of 4-kDa peptide expressed transiently in the cultured carrot and bird’s-foot trefoil cells transfected with pBI 121 plas-mid containing the 4-kDa peptide gene.

The effects of physiologically relevant hypoxia on the catalytic activity of cytochromecoxidase (CytOX), mito-chondrial gene expression, and both nuclear and mito-chondrial encoded CytOX mRNA levels were investigated in murine monocyte macrophages, mouse C2C12 skeletal myocytes and rat adrenal pheochromocytoma PC12 cells. Our results suggest a coordinated down regulation of mito-chondrial genome-coded CytOX I and II and nuclear genome-codedCytOX IV andVbmRNAs during hypoxia.

The ultimate step in Alzheimer’s disease Abgeneration involves c-secretase, which releases Abfrom its membrane-bound precursor. Asimilar presenilin-dependent proteolytic activity is implicated in the release of theNotch intracellular domain. We have developed a novel assay forc-secretase activity based on green fluorescent protein detection. This involves cotransfection of a substrate-activator based on the amyloid precursor protein or the Notch sequence and a fluorescent reporter gene.

Thyroid hormone has various effects on cell proliferation, growth and apoptosis. To gain more insight into the molecular dynamics caused by thyroid hormone, gene expression in HeLaTRcells that constitutively over-expressed the thyroid hormone receptor (TR) was analyzed. Gene expression profiling of the HeLaTRcells with an oligonucleotide microarray yielded 229 genes whose expression was significantly altered by T3.

Glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) is a potent intestino-trophic/satiety hormone that acts through a G protein-coupled receptor. To determine whether or not GLP-2 has any effect on cellular proliferation on neural cells,we examined the effects of this peptide on cultured astrocytes from rat cerebral cortex. The expression of the GLP-2 receptor gene in both cerebral cortex and astrocytes was determined by RT-PCR and Southern blotting. Also, cells responded toGLP-2,producing cAMP in a dose-dependent manner (EC50¼0.86 nM)....
