Langevin equation

The aim of this note is considering a dynamical system expressed by a Langevin equation driven by a Volterra process. An Ornstein - Uhlenbeck process as the solution of this kind of equation is described and a problem of state estimation (filtering) for this dynamical system is investigated as well.

Cells operate in an uncertain environment, where critical cell decisions must be enacted in the presence of biochemical noise. Information theory can measure the extent to which such noise perturbs normal cellular function, in which cells must perceive environmental cues and relay signals accurately to make timely and informed decisions.

To study cell biological phenomena which depend on diffusion, active transport processes, or the locations of species, modeling and simulation studies need to take space into account. To describe the system as a collection of discrete objects moving and interacting in continuous space, various particle-based reaction diffusion simulators for cell-biological system have been developed.

The dynamics of DNA molecules in an optical trap using continuous wave (CW) laser beams is analyzed based on the normalized Langevin equation (NLE). A procedure in normalizing the full Langevin equation is presented. Some position-pulling time characteristics of the bead in the trap are simulated using both NLE and finite difference Langevin equation (FDLE) approaches. The obtained results from two approaches are compared together with discussions in details.

In this paper, we numerically observed the trajectories of free bead in embedding fluid under the nonlinear optical tweezers using thin layer of Acid Blue 29 (NOTAB). Using the set of general Langevin equations describing motions of particles in trapping region, the influence of some parameters on free bead’s trajectories is investigated by the finite difference method.
