• ### Mathematical approach for optimization of magnetohydrodynamic circulation system

The geometrical and electromagnetic variables of a rectangular-type magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) circulation system are optimized to solve MHD equations for the active decay heat removal system of a prototype Gen-IV sodium fast reactor. Decay heat must be actively removed from the reactor coolant to prevent the reactor system from exceeding its temperature limit. A rectangular-type MHD circulation system is adopted to remove this heat via an active system that produces developed pressure through the Lorentz force of the circulating sodium.

• ### Hydromagnetic Waves in the Magnetosphere and the Ionosphere

This book is concerned with Ultra-Low-Frequency (ULF)-electromagnetic waves observed on the Earth and in Space. These are so-called geomagnetic variations or pulsations. Alfv´en’s discovery related to the influence of the strong magnetic field on the conducting fluids (magnetohydrodynamics) led to development of the concept that the ULF-waves are magnetospheric magnetohydrodynamic (MHD)-waves. MHD-waves at their propagation gather information about the magnetosphere, ionosphere, and the ground. There are two applied aspects based on using the ULF electromagnetic oscillations.

• ### Analyse the electrical characteristics of an MagnetoHydroDynamic generator for maximizing the thermal efficiency

In this study, a Faraday type MagnetoHydroDynamic (MHD) generator is studied to consider the effect of electrical characteristics to the thermal efficiency. The generator performance is specified by optimizing the cycle efficiency with respect to the load parameter and by optimizing output power density with respect to seed fraction and operating pressure.

• ### Convective thermal and concentration transfer effects in hydromagnetic peristaltic transport with Ohmic heating

The primary theme of this communication is to employ convective condition of mass transfer in the theory of peristalsis. The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) peristaltic transport of viscous liquid in an asymmetric channel was considered for this purpose. Effects of Ohmic heating and Soret and Dufour are presented. The governing mathematical model was expressed in terms of closed form solution expressions. Attention has been focused to the analysis of temperature and concentration distributions.

• ### Radiation and chemical reaction effects on the boundary layer MHD casson fluid on a vertical plate embedded in the porous medium

The present paper is concerned to analyse the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Casson fluid flow free convection boundary layer flow of an incompressible electrically conducting fluid through a porous medium subjected to magnetic field in the presence of radiation and chemical reaction. Similarity variables are used to transform the non-linear governing equations are reduced to ordinary partial differential equations, solved by shooting process with BVP4C
