In air pollution studies at metropolis, as in Bangkok or Saigon, installation of new stations for monitoring dangerous pollution sources is costly. Using statistical models and analyzing data sets collected at good stations to predict air pollution levels at malfunctioning stations, therefore, are highly demanding. We study air pollution prediction by geo-statistical methods with a realistic dataset costly observed in Ho Chi Minh City.

The study was undertaken based on the recommendation of groundwater estimation committee, 1997 (GEC-97). Methodology used the estimation of annual groundwater recharge from rainfall and other sources, including irrigation, water bodies and artificial recharge, determination of present status of groundwater utilization and categorization of assessment units based on the level of groundwater utilization and long-term water level trend. These pest infestations are infrequent and typically limited to breeding flocks or layers. Broilers and market turkeys are seldom if ever affected. Management of ectoparasites largely consists of whole flock treatments whenever infestations are detected by scouting birds and/or inspection of the structure and equipment (nest boxes, curtains, slats, cages). In this paper, we propose a framework for unusual event detection. Our approach is motivated by the observation that, while it is unrealistic to obtain a large training data set for unusual events, it is conversely possible to do so for usual events, allowing the creation of a well-estimated model of usual events. In order to overcome the scarcity of training material for unusual events, we propose the use of Bayesian adaptation techniques [14], which adapt a usual event model to produce a number of unusual event models in an unsupervised manner.

Our measurements show that our strategy can be used as a way to disable the communication within the Storm botnet to a large extent. As a side effect, we are able to estimate the size of the Storm botnet, in general a hard task [25]. Our measurements are much more precise than previous measurements [12, 17]. This is because measurements previously were based on passive techniques, e.g., by observing visible network events like the number of spam mails supposedly sent via the bots.
