  • In air pollution studies at metropolis, as in Bangkok or Saigon, installation of new stations for monitoring dangerous pollution sources is costly. Using statistical models and analyzing data sets collected at good stations to predict air pollution levels at malfunctioning stations, therefore, are highly demanding. We study air pollution prediction by geo-statistical methods with a realistic dataset costly observed in Ho Chi Minh City.

  • The process of evaporation is influenced by a number of factors, the most common and important meteorological parameters affecting evaporation are solar radiation, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and atmospheric pressure. There are number of models for the estimation of evaporation developed by investigators in different fields of study. The interrelated factors are incorporated into various formulae for estimating evaporation. Due to complex interactions between the components of the land-plantatmospheric systems the reliable estimation of evaporation are extremely difficult.

  • Agriculture is going through a profound revolution worldwide due to increasing world demand for food, higher costs of energy and other inputs, environmental pollution problems, and instability of cropping systems. The importance of plant functioning can be realized from the facts that knowledge of mineral nutrition of plants has opened new vistas for fertilizer practices. The detection of deficiencies and toxicity of particular mineral nutrient element has enabled us to make adequate soil amendments and root nutrient absorption for better plant growth.

  • Oligometastases refer to a state of disease where cancer has spread beyond the primary site, but is not yet widely metastatic, often defined as 1–3 or 1–5 metastases in number. Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) is an emerging radiotherapy technique to treat oligometastases that require further prospective populationbased toxicity estimates.

  • The study is carried out with a purpose to apply various techniques and models for the delineation of catchment and developing methods in order to calculate the Curve Numbers for the Manendragarh watershed (1023.96 Km2 ) of upper Hasdeosubbasin, by implementing three software’s i.e. Arc View GIS 10.4 with Arc Info, Arc Hydro Tool and Geospatial Hydrologic Modeling Extension (HEC-Geo HMS version 10.3) model for Arc View GIS 10.3. Multi layers like soil layer, DEM and Land Use Land Cover layer was combined and CN grid map was prepared.

  • The study was undertaken based on the recommendation of groundwater estimation committee, 1997 (GEC-97). Methodology used the estimation of annual groundwater recharge from rainfall and other sources, including irrigation, water bodies and artificial recharge, determination of present status of groundwater utilization and categorization of assessment units based on the level of groundwater utilization and long-term water level trend. Water level fluctuation techniques and empirical norms were used for recharge estimation.

  • The estimation of crop yield before harvest helps in different policy making in an order for storage, distribution, marketing, pricing, import-export etc. Crop productions depend on several factors such as weather factors, plant characters and agricultural inputs. The present study was carried out to develop the appropriate statistical model for estimation of rice yield before harvest in the year 2018-19. This research was done on plant biometrical characters along with farmer’s appraisal.

  • Yield is a complex character controlled by a large number of contributing characters and their interactions. For any effective selection programme, it would be desirable to consider the relative magnitude of association of various characters with yield. The path coefficient technique helps in estimating direct and indirect contribution of various components in building up the total correlation towards yield. The present study was conducted with 10 lines and bottle gourd genotypes including one check variety i.e.

  • Hydrological modelling is a powerful technique of hydrologic system investigation for both the research hydrologists and the practicing water resources engineers involved in the planning and development of integrated approach for management of water resources. In present study, the observed rainfall and runoff data of 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014years were used as input data. In ANN, input data was divided in 70 per cent, 15 per cent and 15 per cent for training, testing and validation purpose, respectively.

  • The thesis aims to propose some control techniques for mobile target Robot-camera. After that, I studied some of the torque control techniques of joints for the Robot-camera system sticking to the mobile target and the Robot-camera system, paying attention to the motivating motor sticking to the mobile target. Finally, the author also proposed some control algorithms for Robotic-camera arm system with irregular model, external noise and preventing system degradation, using nonlinear sliding controller (TSMC) in combination with Artificial neural networks to estimate uncertain numbers.

  • These pest infestations are infrequent and typically limited to breeding flocks or layers. Broilers and market turkeys are seldom if ever affected. Management of ectoparasites largely consists of whole flock treatments whenever infestations are detected by scouting birds and/or inspection of the structure and equipment (nest boxes, curtains, slats, cages). Other effective management techniques are not available. It is estimated that slightly more than 4 percent of breeder birds and layers are treated for ectoparasites each year.

  • In this paper, we propose a framework for unusual event detection. Our approach is motivated by the observation that, while it is unrealistic to obtain a large training data set for unusual events, it is conversely possible to do so for usual events, allowing the creation of a well-estimated model of usual events. In order to overcome the scarcity of training material for unusual events, we propose the use of Bayesian adaptation techniques [14], which adapt a usual event model to produce a number of unusual event models in an unsupervised manner.

  • Our measurements show that our strategy can be used as a way to disable the communication within the Storm botnet to a large extent. As a side effect, we are able to estimate the size of the Storm botnet, in general a hard task [25]. Our measurements are much more precise than previous measurements [12, 17]. This is because measurements previously were based on passive techniques, e.g., by observing visible network events like the number of spam mails supposedly sent via the bots.

  • By combining small tasks and including a detailed description of the task it will be possible to simplify the schedule merely by reducing the number of tasks in the Gantt. The task effort estimates will be apportioned to individual roles and resources in the next task. Record all assumptions supporting the estimate in the task description. This is very important because it will enable you to recreate and substantiate the estimate. It will also ensure that you have thoroughly thoughout what is to be done, and that it is communicated clearly to the Team.
