Reproductive function
-
Nowadays, there are many factors causing the decrease of male reproductive function such as diet, routine, chemical, ... But some of them have not been paid appropriate attention to, especially the use of paracetamol, which has a significant negative effect on the reproductive process. In this study, we will summarize the results of several studies on the harmful effects of prolonged high-dose use of paracetamol on sperm number, quality, portability and testicular morphology in experimental animals and humans.

Investigating the association between dietary patterns and male reproductive health: A meta-analysis
Male reproductive health has experienced a substantial global decline. This meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the influence of different dietary patterns on male reproductive function based on semen parameters, sperm DNA fragmentation, and sex hormones.

The isoprenoid methyl farnesoate (MF) has been implicated in the regulation of crustacean development and reproduction in conjunction with eyestalk molt inhibiting hormones and ecdysteroids. Farnesoic acid O-methyltransferase (FAMeT) catalyzes the methylation of farnesoic acid (FA) to produce MF in the terminal step of MF synthesis. We have previously cloned and characterized the shrimp FAMeT. In the present study, recombinant FAMeT (rFAMeT) was produced for bioassay and antiserum generation.

Glutathione reductase (GR) recycles oxidized glutathione (GSSG) by converting it to the reduced form (GSH) using an NADPH as the electron source. The function of GR in the male genital tract of the rat was examined by meas-uring its enzymatic activity and examining the gene expression and localization of the protein.

During vitellogenesis, one of the most tightly regulated processes in ovipar-ous reproduction, vitellogenins are incorporated into the oocyte through vitellogenin receptor (VgR)-mediated endocytosis. In this paper, we report the cloning of the VgR cDNA from Blattella germanica, as well as the first functional analysis of VgR following an RNA interference (RNAi) approach.

The crustacean hyperglycemic hormone (CHH) plays an important role in the regulation of hemolymph glucose levels, but it is also involved in other functions such as growth, molting and reproduction. In the present study we describe the first CHH family gene isolated from the Atlantic Ocean shrimp Litopenaeus schmitti.

Although the crustacean crustacean hyperglycemic hormone⁄molt-inhibi-ting hormone⁄gonad-inhibiting hormone neuropeptides have been studied extensively in the last two decades and several neuropeptides from the shrimpMetapenaeus ensishave been cloned, the functions of most of these neuropeptides remained putative.

DNA methylation affects important developmental processes in both plants and animals. The process of methylation of cytosines at C-5 is catalysed by DNA methyltransferases (MTases), which are highly conserved, both struc-turally and functionally, in eukaryotes. In this study, we identified and characterized cytosine DNA MTase genes that are activated with the onset of reproductive development in rice.

GMP synthetase is a glutamine amidotransferase that incorporates ammo-nia derived from glutamine into the nucleotide xanthosine 5¢-monophos-phate (XMP) to form guanosine 5¢-monophosphate (GMP). Functional coordination of domains in glutamine amidotransferases leads to upregula

ON DIFFERENCE EQUATION WITH GENERALIZED DILATION PAVEL PLASCHINSKY Received 22 July 2004; Revised 24 January 2005; Accepted 27 January 2005 We investigate the functional equation with generalized dilation in the special weighted functional spaces. We provide some sufficient conditions for the existence of the inversion operator in the same form and consider several examples. Copyright © 2006 Pavel Plaschinsky.
