Restriction factors widely
-
The interferon-induced transmembrane (IFITM) protein family comprises a class of restriction factors widely characterised in humans for their potent antiviral activity. Their biological activity is well documented in several animal species, but their genetic variation and biological mechanism is less well understood, particularly in avian species.

The degradation of epigenetic control with age is associated with progressive diseases of ageing, including cancers, immunodeficiency and diabetes. Reduced caloric intake slows the effects of ageing and agerelated disease in vertebrates and invertebrates, a process potentially mediated by the impact of caloric restriction on epigenetic factors such as DNA methylation.

ChIP-seq experiments are widely used to detect and study DNA-protein interactions, such as transcription factor binding and chromatin modifications. However, downstream analysis of ChIP-seq data is currently restricted to the evaluation of signal intensity and the detection of enriched regions (peaks) in the genome.

The methanol-regulated AOX1 promoter (PAOX1) is the most widely used promoter in the production of recombinant proteins in the methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris. However, as the tight regulation and methanol dependence of PAOX1 restricts its application, it is necessary to develop a flexible induction system to avoid the problems of methanol without losing the advantages of PAOX1.

Semen cryopreservation is a widely used technique across the world for conservation and proliferation of genetically superior germplasm through artificial insemination. Artificial insemination (AI) is the most conclusive tool to increase genetic improvement, control of venereal diseases and improve herd performance and productivity. For achieving the mission, successful and effective cryopreservation of semen is essential.

The main goal of 3D modeling studies in the mining sector is to address the complex geological, mineralogical, and structural factors in subsurface environments and detect the ore zone(s). In order to solve this complexity, use of quality data (e.g., a wide range of boreholes at regular intervals) is necessary. However, this situation is not always possible because of certain restrictions such as intensive vegetation, high slope areas, and some economic constraints.

Four distinct eukaryotic initiation factor 2a(eIF2a)kinases phosphorylate eIF2aat S51and regulateprotein synthesis in response to various environmental stresses. These are the hemin-regulated inhibitor (HRI), the interferon-inducible dsRNA-dependent kinase (PKR), the endoplasmic reticu-lum (ER)-resident kinase (PERK) and the GCN2 protein kinase. Whereas HRI and PKR appear to be restricted to mammalian cells, GCN2 and PERK seem to be widely distributed in eukaryotes.

Particularly for rented apartments, key control by apartment management is an important issue. Large jury awards have been made to victims of crimes in apartments because of negligent key control and use of a master key. A resident gives up some rights when they move into a multi-residential property. In most cases, the resident, per written agreement, cannot add or replace the lock on their door unless management is given an extra key. By doing this, the management assumes the responsibility of and legal liability for key control.
