This research provides a comprehensive investigation of the planar anisotropy in stainless steel SUS 304. Constitutive modeling approaches, employing both associated and non-associated flow rules, using quadratic functions have been applied in the simulation process.

The small punch test with an application of a relatively small specimen has recently become a reliable material mechanics testing method. In this study, the small punch test is set up based on the conventional mechanical testing machine for SUS304 stainless steel to evaluate the mechanical properties of SUS304 steel at different displacement rates of the punch in quasi-static loading condition in the case of with and without heat treatment.

In this study, TiO2 was used as an additive for polyaniline, considered to be a matrix polymer. The nanocomposite film was fabricated electrochemically on metal surfaces (mild steel and stainless steel). The electrochemical properties of polyaniline could be seen on the cyclic voltammogram.

To understand the role of different metallurgical parameters on the void formation mechanisms, various austenitic stainless steels were elaborated and irradiated with heavy ions. Two alloys, in several metallurgical conditions (15Cr/15Ni–Ti and 15Cr/25Ni–Ti), were irradiated in the JANNUS-Saclay facility at 600 °C with 2 MeV Fe2+ ions up to 150 dpa.

This paper addresses the SS corrosion behavior in a modified fuel performance code in order to evaluate its effect on the global fuel performance. Then, data from the literature concerning to SS corrosion are implemented in the specific code subroutines, and the results obtained are compared to those for Zircaloy-4 (Zy-4) under the same power history.

The austenite and ferrite phases of the 0.5%Gd-0.8%B-stainless steels are about 88:12. The average austenite and ferrite grain size of the plane normal to rolling, transverse and normal directions of the hot rolled specimens are about 5.08, 8.94, 19.35, 23.29, 26.00 and 18.11 [mm], respectively. The average micro-hardness of the as-cast specimen is 200.4 Hv, whereas, that of the hot-rolled specimen are 220.1, 204.7 and 203.5 [Hv] for the plane normal to RD, TD and ND, respectively.

This paper deals with using stainless steel reducing slag (SSRS), a byproduct generated from stainless steel making process, as a cement substitute in production of soil-based controlled low-strength material (CLSM). In the CLSM mixture, surplus soil and river sand were blended well together with a sand-soil proportion of 6:4 by volume in order to produce fine aggregate. Totally, twelve mixtures were prepared for experiment when we changed in turn percentages of Portland cement replacement with SSRS of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% by weight and the water-to-binder ratio of 3.4, 3.6, and 3.8.

Chemical structure of -aminonaphthalene (ANa) allows to deal with its electrochemical polymerisation, analogously as for aniline. To determine the oxidation potentials of ANa, the polymerisation has been realised on Pt electrode using cyclic polarisation. It was found that in sulphuric acid 0.5 M the first oxidation starts at 620 mV/SCE with the peak potential at 760 mV, and the second oxidation at 890 mV/SCE with the peak potential at 1230 mV. The PANa film development decreases the current peaks meaning a reduction of polymerisation rate.

Lead dioxide has been electrodeposited onto 304 stainless steel in three-solution with different compound and pH by ganvanostatic method. The X-Ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques have been used to determine morphologic structure of lead dioxide. The obtained results have shown that lead dioxide has two forms crystal
and, the faradic yield of electrodeposition process lead dioxide in the acid and alkali solution is more than in the neutral solution.

Polyaniline has been electrochemically formed on stainless steel in sulphuric acid 0.5 N with and without KClO3. The CV spectrum style and the peak characteristic parameters, as peak potential Ep, peak current Jp, peak charges quantity Qp, then have been analyzed under a consideration of the effect of KClO3. The resistance of the PANi films was studied using electrochemical impedance measurement. It has been found that KClO3 has affected the PANi morphology much more than the CV spectrum.
