  • Histological features of renal arteries of goat revealed a typical muscular artery structure with three layers within outwards viz., tunica intima, media and adventitia. Abundant subendothelial connective tissue was limited by clear undulating internal elastic membrane. Tunica media in all three renal arterial segments i.e., proximal, middle and distal from aorta to the renal hilus was thicker. More than thirty rows of smooth muscle cells were arranged in circular fashion in tunica media. Their outer boundary was limited by fragmented thin wavy outer elastic membrane.

  • The brain of six adult surti buffaloes was collected for the study of hippocampus. Harris’ Haematoxylin and Eosin (H & E) Staining method was used for general microscopic structure of the hippocampus. Aldehyde-Thionin-PAS method was utilized for Nissl’s substance and mucopolysaccharides. Vogt’s method was used for nerve cells, SevierMunger method for neural tissues and the micrometry of hippocampus was performed by various layers of cornu ammonis and dentate gyrus.

  • Histological assessment showed that independently of the etiological factor involved, changes of the mucosa refer both to the gingival epithelium and the lamina propria (Banita et al., 2008, 2011). There is now general agreement that all gingival overgrowth lesions contain fibrotic or expanded connective tissue with various levels of inflammation and an enlarged gingival epithelium. As soon as plaque accumulates adjacent to the gingival margin, inflammatory cells infiltrate in the subjacent connective tissue and initiate its destruction.

  • The male reproductive system is adapted for internal fertilization. The penis is a structure that has evolved to deposit sperm safely within the female’s body. The tube that passes through the penis, the urethra, has two functions. It is the pathway for sperm out of the body as well as the pathway for urine to leave the body after having been stored in the uri- nary bladder. At the time of sexual excitement, a valve closes. This valve prevents the bladder from releasing urine. At the same time, nerve impulses from the brain cause blood vessels in the penis to relax.

  • Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease manifested by painful digital ulcers, joint contracture and skin thickening. Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) have become a recent focus of interest in tissue regeneration. The aim of this work was to study the changes of elastic fibers in localized scleroderma model in thin skin of adult male albino rat and the possible curative role of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells.
