Progesterone levels in milk and serum are indicators of pregnancy in cattle. The progesterone level reaches a peak on the 21st and 22nd days of pregnancy. Monoclonal antibodies specific to progesterone could be used for the immunodetection of milk and serum progesterone levels.

We report here the development of hybrid cells producing monoclonal antibodies specific for two different steroid hormones with mixed immunization using hybridoma technology. BALB/c mice were immunized with a mixture of three steroid antigens: progesterone, estradiole and testosterone linked to bovine serum albumine.

As infection with Pasteurella multocida is common in cattle and buffalo, a monoclonal antibody based sandwich ELISA kit was developed for its rapid and easy detection. The test was optimized and standardized so that maximum concordance could be maintained with the standard procedures of hemorrhagic septicemia diagnosis recommended by the WHO expert committee. HS-1, a Pasteurella multocida type B specific monoclonal antibody developed in mice was used as tracing antibody to capture P. multocida serotype B:2 in a sandwich ELISA.

Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious disease of cloven hoofed animals caused by FMD virus classified under genus Apthovirus and Picornaviridae family. Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) to FMDV provides best tool for the development of reliable diagnostics and there is a need for the development of mAbs that specifically recognize either 146S or 12S for the quality control analysis of FMDV vaccines. In the present study, we developed mAbs specific to FMDV serotype O and characterized their specificity in recognition of 146S or 12S particles.

Foot-and-mouth disease [FMD] is a highly infectious and contagious viral disease of domestic and wild cloven hoofed animals. The disease is controlled by vaccination using inactivated vaccine as one of the important options. The integrity of 146S plays an important role in the efficacy of the vaccine. The currently applied methods like density gradient to check the integrity of the 146S particles are besotted with certain disadvantages. Therefore, we generated monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) specific to 146S of FMDV serotype A [Indian strain].

Twenty-five years ago, Georges Köhler and César Milstein invented a means of cloning individual antibodies, thus opening up the way for tremendous advances in the fields of cell biology and clinical diagnostics (1). However, in spite of their early promise, monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) were largely unsuccessful as therapeutic reagents resulting from insufficient activation of human effector functions and immune reactions against proteins of murine origin.

Báo cáo khoa học: Mapping the functional domains of human transcobalamin using monoclonal antibodies
Recombinant human transcobalamin (TC) was probed with 17 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), using surface plasmon resonance measurements. These experiments identified five distinct epitope clusters on the surface of holo-TC. Western blot analysis of the CNBr cleavage fragments of TC allowed us to distribute the epitopes between two regions, which spanned either the second quarter of the TC sequence GQLA…TAAM(103–198) or the C-ter-minal peptide LEPA…

Although serum is a main source of essential nutrients and growth factors, its use creates highly complex and poorly defined media. The use of serum-free media is more efficient than the use of media containing serum especially when the purification and characterization of antibodies are considered.

In vivo use of monoclonal antibodies has become routine clinical practice in the treatment of human cancer. CD38 is an attractive target, because it has double roles, as a receptor and an ectoenzyme. Daratumumab, an anti-CD38 antibody, is currently in the clinical trials for multiple myeloma.

The single chain fragment antibody (scFv) antibodies were raised against CRY2B antigen by phage display technology. In antigen-antibody affinity selection the scFv antibody displaying phages concentration was increased (4.54 × 1010 to 2.3 ×1011) and fourth round phages were higher in concentration and affinity (1.06) to antigen revealed by ELISA.

Recombinant human CD45RO antigen was expressed from E. coli BL21 (DE3), purified and analyzed by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting. The purified CD45RO antigen was used to immunize Balb/c mice. Spleen cells from immunized mouse were collected and fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells to form hybridoma. Anti-CD45 antibody-secreting capacity of hybridoma clones was evaluated by ELISA assay. Anti-CD45 MAb from the culture supernatant of the chosen hybridoma clone was purified by affinity chromatography. The MAb was characterized the biochemical characteristics and biological activity.

Historically, the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) has taken a strong stand advocating reductions in air pollution in Ontario as an essential means to improve public health. Beginning in 1967, the Ontario Medical Association Council endorsed a program of air pollution control in Ontario which included the establishment of monitoring stations and regulation of emissions from industry and vehicular traffic (15). Shortly thereafter, the government enacted the Air Pollution Control Act encompassing a number of the recommendations from the OMA.

A Gallup study of over 250,000 sales people and 25,000 sales managers supports our internal findings that the highest performers use a variety of sales approaches and styles. Even within the same company, many different sales approaches are used by these top performers. In fact, if all the top performers were forced to use a single sales style, many of them would cease to be top producers, would get frustrated and quit. Gallup’s conclusion: No one style is best. Gallup’s study supports our consistent findings: The bank must be flexible enough to allow people to...

In 1930 Ferguson modified the technique and published his series of 280 patients who had prostate needle aspiration biopsy using an 18-gauge needle via the transperineal approach and was able to remove adequate tissue in 78 to 86% of his cases (Ferguson, 1930) (figure 6). The patient was placed in the lithotomy position and local anaesthetic was infiltrated just lateral to the median raphe 1cm anterior to the anus. The index finger of the left hand was introduced into the rectum guiding an 18 gauge needle introduced into the perineum taking care to avoid the rectum and urethra....

There are several exemptions in many State laws that leave children unprotected in vehicles. 8 In nearly half of the States, children can ride unsecured if all safety belts are in use. This means that if a vehicle is overcrowded and other occupants are using all of the safety belts, nobody can be cited if children are unbelted. Another common exemption allows parents, guardians, or other adults to “attend to the personal needs of the child.” This exemption permits an adult to carry a child on his or her lap, while the vehicle is in motion, for...

Finally, the last design goal for the API is that it should be possible for a library to use the mechanism without fear of conflicts with the main program. This allows 3 party code that uses the API to be linked into the application without conflict. While on the surface this appears to be obvious, several counter examples exist. Within a process, a signal may only have a single sig- nal handler registered, so library code typically can not use signals. X-window applications only allow for a sin- gle event loop.
