Acne is a common disorder, associated with inflammation of the sebaceous and bacterial hair follicle units and has diverse clinical manifestations. The most commonly mentioned causes and factors associated with the onset of acne in adulthood are hormones, antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and the use of drugs and cosmetics.

Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit, especially in adolescents. There are many classifications of the disease severity, and the role of bacteria in the pathogenesis has been confirmed. This article evaluates the severity of acne through the Global Acne Grading System and Investigator’s Global Assessment, and the presence of bacteria in the pustule.
