RELATIVE PRONOUNS ( CÁC ĐẠI TỪ QUAN HỆ) :
1. WHO: làm chủ ngữ và thay thế cho danh từ chỉ người.
EX: a) The man is very friendly. He lives next door to us.
The man who lives next door to us is very friendly.
2. WHICH: làm chủ ngữ hoặc tân ngữ và thay thế cho danh từ chỉ vật.
EX: a) She works for a company. It makes cars
She works for a company which makes cars .

3. WHOSE: chỉ sở hữu, thay thế cho danh từ chỉ vật và người.
EX: a)John found the cat. Its leg was broken.
John found the cat whose legwas broken.
b) This is the student. I borrowed his book.
This is the student whose book I borrowed .
4. THAT: có thề dùng thay thế cho who/whom/which trong mệnh đề quan hệ xác định.
EX: That is the car which /that he bought last month.
The woman that/ who is standing over there is my sister.
I know the girlthat/ who/ whom I spoke to .
III. PRONUNCIATION:
Sound: /sl/ and /sn/
Stress in words ending in –ic and -ious. (stress on the syllable immediately before them)

The Paricutin Volcano is a remarkable natural wonder located in Mexico. It is considered one of the youngest
volcanoes on Earth, as it suddenly emerged from a cornfield in 1943 and rapidly grew into a towering mountain.

Dear Laura,
