2. Past Progressive tense<br />
1. Positive Forms: S+ was/ were/ + V-ing<br />

5. The usage: When, While<br />
a. Thì Quá khứ tiếp diễn còn diễn tả một hành động đang diễn ra tại một thời điểm trong<br />
quá khứ thì có một hành động khác xen vào.<br />
Example: When Tom arrived, we were having dinner<br />
I was walking down the street when it began to rain<br />
b. Thì Quá khứ tiếp diễn còn diễn tả hai hành động song song cùng diễn ra tại một thời điểm<br />
trong quá khứ.<br />
Example: While I was studying my lesson, my brother was playing soccer.<br />
c. Chúng ta dùng thì quá khứ tiếp diễn với always khi phàn nàn, hoặc biểu lộ sự bực mình<br />
hay tức giận.<br />
Example: Mary was always throwing her dirty socks away on the floor.<br />

3 .Reported Speech(Câu trực tiếp – Câu gián tiếp)<br />
1. Câu trực tiếp là câu mệnh lệnh:<br />
a.Mệnh lệnh khẳng định:<br />
S + told + O+ to- infinitive.<br />
Example: “ Please wait for me outside the movie theater” Tom said to Mary.<br />
=>Tom told Mary to wait for him outside the movie theater.<br />
b.Mệnh lệnh phủ định:<br />
S + told + O+ not + to- infinitive.<br />
Example: “ Don,t stand up, please!”My teacher said to us<br />

2. Câu trực tiếp là câu khẳng định:<br />
Example:<br />
