  • The bremsstrahlung beam with energy end point of 65M eV created when the e− beam with energy of 65M eV irradiated to thin wolfram target was used to irradiate to TiO2 sample in order to make the 46 Ti (γ, pn)44m,g Sc reaction. The gamma spectrum of Sc44m,g was analyzed by the gammavision spectrometry with HPGe detector at linear accelerator laboratory in POSTECH, Korea.

  • The following strategy is used to reconstruct the strange hyperon Ω. In the LHCb experiment, the hadrons p, π and K are identified by the RICH detector with PT threshold > 100 MeV. Only Lambda particles (from channel Λ → p + π) with PT > 500 MeV are chosen to combine with kaon daughter particle in order to reconstruct a strange hyperon Ω. The reconstructed particles are accepted as Ω candidates in the case it satisfies several criteria such as its invariance mass must be located within the window mass ±50 MeV/c2 around the nominal value.

  • The trajectory of particle beams can be obtained by using an active gas target, multiple-sampling and tracking proportional chamber (MSTPC), as a proportional counter. Because of intensity of low energy radioactive beam, in the stellar reaction such as (α, p), (p, α),. . . it is necessary to increase the gain for the counter. In this case, a gas electrons multiplier (GEM) foil will be used, so the proportional counter is called GEM-MSTPC.

  • The wavelength shift effect of the Whispering Gallery Mode (WGM) laser with Er3+ /Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass microsphere has been investigated. The experiment was carried out by half fiber taper coupling technique. The microsphere lasers have been pumped at 980 nm to take full advantage of energy transfer effect from ion Ytterbium to ion Erbium. The WGM’s wavelength shift were analyzed for sphere diameters of 90 µm. The observed lasing lines extends from 1532 nm to 1611 nm.

  • We present polarization- and angle-resolved optical reflection of a fine artificial opal photonic crystal consisting of SiO2 spheres into a face-centered-cubic lattice. The measurement shows the polarization dependence on high-order reflection (energy region a/λ = 1.0 – 1.5). It is shown that the reflection peaks are strongly dependent on s- and p-polarized light illuminating on the sample. The experiment results are analyzed and compared with photonic bands which are obtained according to prediction based on group theory.

  • The calculations are based on the linearized Boltzmann equation (BE) and the relaxation time approximation, assuming the scattering by acoustic phonons to be quasi-elastic. We consider three physically distinct temperature ranges with respect to phonon scattering: the Bloch-Gruneisen ¨ (BG), equipartition (EP), and inelastic regimes.

  • This paper presents the results of an experimental study of three samples containing various elements in the near-surface layers. The depth profiles of all the elements of different atomic masses from hydrogen to silver were investigated by Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) and Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ERDA). The experiments were performed by using the low-energy (about 2 MeV) 4He+ ion beams.

  • By expanding the calculations we investigated a four-nucleon model of the nucleus which takes into account the delta meson. The main results show that without the addition of Goguta-Bodmer, the expected compression value is still obtained, and the slope and curvature of the symmetrical energy are also consistent with the experiment.

  • In India 82 per cent of farmers are small and marginal farmers whose acreage is less than 2 ha. These farmers play a pivotal role in Indian economy. Majority of these farmers practicing mono crop cultivation. Discouraging results of monoculturing (non-integrated system) on crop productivity, led to the development of integrated farming system (IFS) strategy which enables adequate income, employment, nutritional security and eco friendly. IFS has many advantages over the monoculturing.

  • Various engineering properties of rice husk, rice straw, sugarcane bagasse and cotton stalk were estimated. Experiment was performed at SPRERI (Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute), Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. Different physical properties of these residues such as moisture content, bulk density, true density, porosity, angle of repose and thermal properties like volatile matter, ash content and fixed carbon was measured. Bulk density of rice husk and rice straw was 331.59 kg/m3 and 380.54 kg/m3 respectively.

  • Some twenty five countries have experimented with environmental accounting over the past twenty years. A few European countries have established physical accounting systems which are routinely compiled and applied to economic and environmental policy-making. Many other countries have undertaken more limited or one-time experiments and case studies with monetary environmental accounts, focused on issues such as forestry, soil erosion, and minerals depletion. A few examples suggest the richness of their experience.
