Effect of the [U(IV)]/[U(III)] ratio on selective chromium corrosion and tellurium intergranular cracking of Hastelloy N alloy in the fuel LiF-BeF2-UF4 salt
Effect of the [U(IV)/U(III)] ratio of fuel salt on selective chromium corrosion and tellurium intergranular cracking (IGC) of Hastelloy N alloy in the LiF-BeF2-UF4 salt mixture was investigated. The chromium corrosion of Hastelloy N alloy is caused by the oxidation of chromium on the alloy surface by reaction with UF4.

Influence of molten salt-(FLiNaK) thermophysical properties on a heated tube using CFD RANS turbulence modeling of an experimental testbed
The goal of this study is to demonstrate and quantify the impact that the uncertainty in thermophysical properties has on key metrics of thermal hydraulic importance for MSRs, in particular on the heat transfer coefficient. In order to achieve this, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations using the RANS k-ω SST model were compared to published experiment data on molten salt.

This paper presents the main characteristics of the method, along with some practical guidelines to apply it to the specific case of the MSFR; moreover, some initiating events are analyzed through the implementation of the LoD tool. The outcomes of this analysis drive the design evolution.

Probiotics are vital in aquaculture for maintaining water quality, boosting aquatic species' health, and enhancing growth rates. This study investigated the effects of probiotics, namely salt-tolerant Bacillus velezensis MT50 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens MT51, on the water quality and performance of whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei PL) cultured in tanks.

Development of a cold plug valve with fluoride salt
The final goal of the work is to provide useful recommendations and guidelines for the design of a cold plug for the emergency draining system of a molten salt reactor. Some numerical thermal simulations were performed with ANSYS mechanical (Finite Element Method) to be compared with results of the experiments and to make extrapolations for a new component to be used in a reactor.

The aim of this study is to explore and develop methods of controlling colour while overcoming many of the inherent problems in the processing. Because to the enormous variety of paper available, testing for printing was narrowed to primarily 100% cotton papers. The negative was critical in realising the full potential of the salt prints tonal range. The film tested was limited by availability in the Australian market. The research into various films to create digital output negatives proved to be complex and time consuming. It became clear that an in-depth study in this area would distort the balance of this thesis.
