This paper introduces the application of artificial intelligence to build a security control software system in local military units. This software system uses state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks (CNN SOTA) for facial recognition by testing two of the best facial recognition models currently available: the FaceNet model and the VGGFace model.

This document is an Appropriate Durable Record (ADR) of my Masters of Fine Art research project, titled, A moment of beauty: An Archive of Intimate Engagements. The ADR contains photographic documentation of my artwork produced through this investigation along with a written reflective process – outlining the objectives of the research, identifying research questions, describing how the artworks were created and evaluated. This is a qualitative collective case study that seeks to understand the phenomena of graffiti and its related subcultures. By employing Interpretivist techniques, the research attempts to raise questions about harm minimisation, zero tolerance and graffiti, as well as broaden the debate about these distinct policy approaches for local communities. The research setting encompasses the geographic area of the Knox municipality, situated in outer eastern Melbourne. The researcher has openly disclosed a working relationship between herself and the Knox City Council, where she has been employed as both a Graffiti Management Officer, and a Community Safety (Crime Prevention) Officer, for the past six years.

The aim of this project "Tessellation: exploring pathways and partitions" is to explore visual pathways within a series of tessellated art works. The term ‘visual pathway’ may in this case extend to include disruption of space and surface, the partitioning of space and surface, as well as the exploration of various pathways that flow through space and surface.

Within the urban landscape, the tempo of destruction and redevelopment of our built environment reveals a palimpsest of change. The abandonment of these sites could go unnoticed, often a fleeting moment before destruction, with the next structure then re-cloaking the land. This research project locates itself spatially and conceptually within this pause or transitional state of select sites. It utilises this brief period of time to consider how these sites can offer poetic information and new readings as creative practice, despite their impending obsolescence.

The aim of this thesis is to extend understanding of how Australian Indigenous and Nonindigenous art markets are both similar and distinct from one another. Aside from the obvious difference in relation to the categorisation of the types of art works that each sub-market encompasses which is explored in the next section of this chapter, this thesis considers the operation of the market mechanism to determine the auction price in Indigenous and Nonindigenous art markets as well as the overall Australian art market.

The main aims of the research "Self-surveillance: Performing the plurality of my feminine experience of self" were to establish a solo practice and create performative artworks that made visible aspects of my lived experience. This research project will investigate how combining systems of tessellation1 , modularity2 and seriality3 can be utilised with a specific method of paper staining to explore visual pathways within an artwork. A serial system4 of modular tessellation will be implemented, whereby different “sets” of oil-and-pigment soaked paper modules will be constructed and formed into various configurations. 5 These configurations will then be documented within the architectural spaces of studio and gallery, in order to explore how the same set of paper modules may reveal a variety of visual outcomes in the form of visual pathways, divisions and partitions.
