
HANDBOOK FOR FOREIGNERS IN VINH PHUC 5
Vinh Phuc province was established in 1950 on the basis of merging Vinh Yen
province and Phuc Yen province; in 1968, it was merged with Phu Tho province
into Vinh Phu province. On January 1st, 1997, Vinh Phuc province was officially
re-established. In terms of geographical location, to the North, Vinh Phuc borders
Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen province, the West borders Phu Tho, the South
borders Ha Noi, the East borders the districts of Soc Son and Dong Anh (Ha Noi).
Located in the Northern key economic region, being the gateway of Ha Noi
capital, near Noi Bai International Airport, the bridge connecting the Northwest
provinces with Ha Noi and the Red River Delta, Vinh Phuc province plays a very
important role in the regional and national economic development strategy. After
nearly a quarter of a century of the re-establishment, under the leadership of the
Party, with the determination and consensus of the local authority and people,
Vinh Phuc’s socio - economic development has recorded many important and
remarkable achievements. Vinh Phuc from a purely agricultural province has turned
into the locality having a higher economic development than the national average, is
one of the provinces having the large proportion of budget regulation to the Central
government. Besides, Vinh Phuc is also known for its unique cultural features and
many famous tourist destinations such as Tay Thien, Tam Dao, Dai Lai... attracting
a number of domestic and foreign tourists. With the strengths and development
potentials, Vinh Phuc strives to become a developed industrial province in 2025,
one of the industry, service and tourism centers in the region and the whole country.
Every year, the province welcomes and works with many international
investors and tourists. Therefore, in order to provide foreigners basic and necessary
information about Vinh Phuc, the Department of Foreign Affairs would like to
introduce the “Handbook for foreigners in Vinh Phuc”!
