Master thesis Computer Science: Object movement modelingThis thesis develops a flexible customer behavior analysis system, including essential head pose estimation or F-formation modules. This system will be evaluated in an actual retail store. Further, after studying the system, realizing the mentioned problems of the head pose problem, we also propose a process to collect the head pose dataset and multi-task deep neural network model, fusing face detection and head pose estimation to yield face position and head pose at the same time.

Doctoral dissertation of computer science: Audio source separation exploiting nmf based generic source spectral modelAims to tackle the real-world recordings with challenging settings as mentioned earlier, we have proposed novel separation algorithms for both single-channel and multi-channel cases. The achieved results have been described in seven publications. The results of our algorithms were also submitted to the international source separation campaign SiSEC 20164 [81] and obtained the best performance in terms of energybased criteria.

Master's thesis of Applied Science: The transmission of forced waves at a junctionThis research has raised the question of whether the vibration transmission at a wall junction depends on how the wall is excited (by either a sound wave or a mechanical shaker). The aim of this research is to investigate this question and hence contribute to the revision of the series of standards. Villot and Guigou-Carter (2000) have considered this problem but their equations (10) and (13) appear to be in error. This research will endeavour to derive the correct equations and r epeat Villot and Guigou Carter’s calculations.

Master's thesis of Applied Science: Measuring contractors' business performance: effective use of a balanced scorecard approachThe primary objective of the research is to develop a balanced scorecard framework for construction contractors and measu re performance of contractors using that framework. The results of the questionnaire survey carried out and follow-up interviews conducted among 34 senior managers in Melbourne revealed that the above performance measurement framework is appropriate to use in a contracting organisation. The respondents perceive that the process management perspective measurement is more desirable than others. The stakeholder management perspective received moderate rating, while business development and innovation and learning perspectives both received average importance rating by the respondents.
