Research on the factors influencing the re-purchase intention on short video platforms: A case of China

This paper, based on the customer value theory, seeks to establish a structural modelfor such factors. The intermediary effect of customer loyalty on customer satisfaction andrepurchase intention of customers is also analyzed. Questionnaires were distributed andcollected from users of short video platforms in China.

Modelling the diffusion of mobile commerce in a country is a difficult task due to the non-linear, complex and uncertain nature of its operating environment. Conventional analytical techniques are of limited use in this context, and a System Dynamics approach is more appropriate to model such a complex system. Since the diffusion of mobile commerce is influenced by a multitude of factors, some of which are yet to exist, the main objective of this study is to illustrate the process of developing System Dynamics models for simulating mobile commerce diffusion in China by using a subset of the factors involved.

Doctoral thesis of Philosophy: Investor protection and agency problems in family firms: Evidence from China

The increasingly important role played by family firms in China’s fledging capital market calls for a better understanding of how it works and is governed. This study aims to explore how corporate governance issues in family firms are tackled from the perspective of investor protection. The thesis addresses the question by first presenting theoretical models showing the relations among investor protection, family governance, and agency costs in family firms. It then formulates empirical models to test the predictions of the theoretical models by using a unique and detailed family-firm data set in China’s stock markets, one of the largest and fastest growing economies in the world.

Master's thesis of Applied Science: Distributed solar energy applications in commercial buildings across China: Value comparison and policy implication

This research aims to address these research gaps. Through the literature review, the most popular building PV applications in China are identified. Hence, five building PV scenarios are developed based on real-word cases, including BAPV, roof BIPV and window BIPV. Given the diverse geographic conditions and policy conditions in China, 12 typical cities are selected for the research. A MATLAB program is established to calculate energy generation and evaluate the economic performance of the building PV applications in the 12 cities. By changing the input of the national subsidy and tariff growth rate in the program, the impacts of the two policy-related parameters on the economic results are investigated. The impact of shading loss in the urban environment is also incorporated.

This thesis contributes to the existing literature in the following ways: First, presenting a systematic study with empirical evidence on the functioning and quality of corporate governance and its impact under the contractual form of FMC. Second, this research represents a step forward from the extant studies focusing on how board characteristics and composition in fund companies by investigating a wider range of relevant governance mechanisms that affect board effectiveness which other studies have not attempted. Third, applying corporate governance scores to proxy for the overall corporate governance quality of FMC, this thesis is a first study to investigate the link between the governance rating and FMC performance.

Examining the case of the social enterprise sector in one developing country, although descriptive in nature, fills an essential knowledge gap in the field of ICT and development.
