Global competition has intensified geographic repositioning of supply chain activities with implications for the economic prosperity of specific regions and geographies affected by such shifts. This study examines the relationship between the level of corruption and economic growth using the supply chain and ARDL bounds test method. The data used are GDP, the level of corruption, foreign direct investment, government spending and inflation from 2000-2018. The results of the study indicate a negative and significant impact on the level of corruption on economic growth in the long run. The implication of this research is that weak institutions, indicating the failure of government (corruption) that affect the performance of economic growth.

The article presents the graphical analysis of economic indicators for 25 countries: GDP growth rate (%) and GDP per person employed (thousand US dollars) for the period from 1990 to 2016 by considering the supply chain strategy (SCS) and transparency. Many East Asian economies experienced rapid economic growth since the early 1960’s, with Singapore and Malaysia being two of the best performers. Various factors have contributed to this growth. They include export-orientated policies, capital investment, a market-friendly approach and an institutional regulatory framework that attracts foreign investors. Another factor is the role of human capital in the form of formal and informal education. Human capital has been researched at both the theoretical and empirical levels. This thesis explores the relationship between economic growth in Singapore and Malaysia, and human capital accumulation as measured by labour force educational attainment.

The thesis contributes to the economics literature by providing a theoretical and empirical investigation of the effects of changes in the relative size of government on Australian economic performance. The theoretical literature indicates that an expansion in government size is likely to induce adverse effects upon economic growth for a host of reasons. These include the distortionary effects of taxation imposed to finance government expenditures, the displacement effects of private sector economic activity attributable to public sector interventions, and the growth in governmental activity encouraging economic participants to divert their attentions away from direct market activities and towards seeking benefits through the political process.

Research on the relationship between FDI and economic growth in Binh Dinh province. At the same time, this study also clarifies some issues about FDI absorptive capacity in relationship with economic growth. Based on the research results, the author proposes several policy implications to attract FDI capital and increase its benefits to promote local economic growth.
