PREFACE
To the students
Welcome to English 1 – Pre-Intermediate Level, the first step on your journey
to becoming confident and capable English users. This course has been carefully designed
to help you develop a strong foundation in essential language skills—listening, speaking,
reading, and writing—while also expanding your knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, and
everyday English usage.
Throughout the units, you will engage with practical topics such as personal
information, daily routines, travel, shopping, city life, and more. These themes have been
chosen to reflect real-life situations where English is commonly used, enabling you to
apply your learning in meaningful ways. Alongside vocabulary and grammar practice,
you will improve your communication skills through listening exercises, structured
speaking tasks, reading comprehension, and guided writing.
This book is more than just a collection of lessons—it is a tool to help you grow as
a learner. We encourage you to be curious, to take part actively in class, and to use English
in and out of the classroom. Remember, every word you learn and every sentence you
build brings you closer to fluency.

To the teachers
English 1 – Pre-Intermediate Level provides instructors with a structured yet
flexible resource for teaching English to lower-intermediate learners. The course content
integrates grammar, vocabulary, and the four core skills within familiar and practical
contexts, enabling students to connect language learning with everyday experience.
The material is presented through accessible language and visual support, with a
focus on learner engagement and skill-building. Each unit is organized to promote gradual
development, with opportunities for both individual practice and collaborative activities.
Teachers can adapt the lessons to suit the pace, interests, and needs of their learners, and
supplement the core material with contextualized exercises and real-life practice.
