It indicating distance (Dùng it làm chủ ngữ của câu để nói về khoảng cách) Ex: It is about 300 meters from my house to the bus stop. 2. should/ shouldn’t - Chúng ta sử dụng should (nên) và dạng phủ định là shouldn’t (không nên). - Sau should/ shouldn’t là động từ dạng nguyên thể. - để đưa ra lời khuyên: Ex: You shouldn’t go out late at night. - để nói rằng điều gì là đúng đắn hoặc tốt nhất để làm: Ex: We should go now, or we might get stuck in a traffic jam. Unit 8: FILMS 1. Although / Though (Mặc dù) - Ta sử dụng although / though với nghĩa “mặc dù”. Although / Though được theo sau bởi một mệnh đề gồm cả chủ ngữ và vị ngữ. Although / Though + S + V + (O), S + V + (O) Ex: Although / Though the film was so boring, she managed to watch it till the end. 2. However (Tuy nhiên) - Ta sử dụng However với nghĩa “tuy nhiên”. However được theo sau bởi một mệnh đề gồm cả chủ ngữ và vị ngữ. S + V + (O). However, S + V + (O) Ex: The film was so boring. However, she managed to watch it till the end. *Connectors: ( Liên từ; Từ nối) ta thường dùng để nối kết 2 mệnh đềvới nhau. Though/ Although (mặc dù) + S1+V1 .. ,S2 + V2… S1+V1 … .However, (tuy nhiên) S2 + V2…. S1+V1….Nevertheless, (dẫu cho) S2 + V2 Ex: 1. Although my homework was difficult, I finished it before bed time. (Or) I finished my homework before bed time, although it was difficult. 2. My homework was difficult. However, I finished it before bed time. 3. All critics said this film is really boring. Nevertheless, I was so interested in it. Unit 9: FESTIVALS AROUND THE WORLD Grammar: Yes/No questions (Câu hỏi Yes/No) - Câu hỏi Yes/No cần câu trả lời hoặc là Yes hoặc là No. - Chúng ta hình thành câu hỏi Yes/No với một trợ động từ (tobe, do, does, did, have,…) hoặc với động từ khuyết thiếu (Can/ Could,..) - Chúng ta đặt trợ động từ hoặc động từ khuyết thiếu trước chủ ngữ. - Cấu trúc: Be/ Do/ Does/ Did/ Will/ Have/ Can/ Could + S + (V)… *Form: + Yes-No questions: (Hỏi đoán)
