Ha Long Bay is located in the northeast of Vietnam, in the Gulf of Tonkin. It is famous for
natural beauty with emerald waters and thousands of limestone islands and islets. The bay covers an
area of about 1,553 square kilometers and is home to nearly 2,000 islands, some of which are
uninhabited. The largest and most well-known islands and caves include Tuan Chau, Ti Top Islands,
Dau Go Cave, and Sung Sot Cave.
Ha Long Bay was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 for its exceptional
beauty and ecological importance. The name "Ha Long" means "Descending Dragon" in Vietnamese,
and according to legend, the bay's islands were created by a dragon that descended into the sea.
The bay offers a wide range of activities for tourists, including boating, kayaking, swimming,
