Last August, John’s family went on holiday for two weeks. They stayed in a nice hotel near the sea. The
room they stayed in was very big and had two beds. They went fishing in the sea, and they caught a lot of
fish. The hotel had boats that they could use to sail to a little island.
One day, when his parents were lying on the grass and reading, John and his sister took one of the boats
out to sea. It was hot and sunny, so they decided to jump into the sea and swim. The water was very cold.
Suddenly, his sister shouted, ‘There’s something in the water!’ She climbed back into the boat very quickly
and he did too. They looked into the dark water of the sea. There was an octopus!John started laughing.
‘It’s only a small octopus,’ he told his sister. ‘It isn’t dangerous.’
They didn’t have their towels so they sat on the beach of the island until they were dry. Then they sailed
the boat back to the beach and they told their parents about their meeting with the octopus.
