GIÁO ÁN TIẾNG ANH LỚP 9

UNIT 4: LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

I. OBJECTIVES :

The end of this lesson, Ss will  review the topic “ Learning a foreign language”. Through the topic Ss will know more experience in the way learning English.

II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS :

Grammar : - the simple present  (review)

Vocabulary :    -examiner (n)              - aspects of language English (n)

- written examination (n)        - Oral examination (n)

III. TECHNIQUES :

Brainstorming, pre- comprehension, matching , Slap the board.

IV. TEACHING AIDS :

Tape, cassette, pictures, extra- board, books . . .

V. PROCEDURE :

 

               T’s and Ss’ activities

- T checks  two Ss .

- Ss give the answer on the board

- T corrects and gives marks.

- Ss work in group, every group gives  the ways to learn English well. Which group gives many ways to learn is winner.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- Then Ss compare that way with” Getting started” in book. And Ss check the things they do from the list.

- T introduces some ways in learning English on the board.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- T uses the picture on  page 33 to introduce new lesson.

 

 

 

- T gives new words on the board.

- Ss guess the meaning of the words.

- T reads the words twice and Ss repeat.

 -T checks the words by playing                    “ What and where ”.

+ T writes the new words on the board, each word in each circle, asks Ss to repeat the words chorally, and rub out word by word but leave the circles.

+ T and SS go on all the circles are empty, then  T gets Ss to go to the board and write the words in their correct circles

- Ss take note.

- T explains new grammar.

- Ss listen carefully and take note.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- T says “ Lan is talking to Paola, a foreign student,  about the oral examination that that she has just  taken . Can you guess which questions the examiner ask Lan ?”.

- Ss guess .

- T says “ Lan is talking to Paola about the oral examination she has had. First , you look at the book and listen to the tape to get the main idea of the conversation.”

- Ss listen to the tape twice .

- Ss practice the dialogue with a classmate         ( about 3 pairs)

 

 

- T says “ Now you read the conversation again and see what exactly examiner asked Lan. Look at the list of questions and check the boxes “

- Ss work in group.

- Then every group gives the answer on the board.

- T corrects and checks the guessing .

- Ss take note.

 

 

 

 

- T says “ Now you study the list of questions and work in pairs. Student A is examiner and student 2 is the examinee in an oral examination. Student 2 use the personal information to answer the examiner’s questions”

- T asks Ss to change seat rearrangement. -  - T goes around the class to help Ss.

- Ss work in pairs before the class.

- T corrects

- T gives the homework on the board.

- Ss take note.

- Examiner (n) ( a person who ask questions                         ( spoken or written to find out how much a person know ) giaùm khaûo .

- Written examination (n) ( situation): kì thi vieát.

- Oral examination (n) ( translate): kì thi noùi.

- Candidate (n) : ( one person takes part in an exam): thí sinh.

1 ) Wh- question :

2) Yes/ No question:

EX:

1) Na asked Lan “ What does  your mother do?”

Ø Na asked Lan  what her mother did .

2) She said to me “ Do you like watching TV?”

Ø She asked me if I liked watching TV.

 

* Guessing : Which questions did the examiner ask Lan

4.PRODUCTION :

* Speaking / role play

- Ask student to work in pairs to practice asking and answering. One student plays the role of examiner and another plays the role of Lan.

- Call on some pairs to demonstrate before the class.

5. HOMEWORK :

- Learn by heart new  words, the structure and the ways to learn English better.

- Do exercise: Change into the reported speech.

1) She asked me “ Do you like reading the comic?”

2) They asked him “ Where is your book?”

- Do exercise 1 on page 27 in ex. book

- Prepare Unit 4 Lesson 2: Speak
