Recent advances in virulence factors of emerging enteropathogen Escherichia alberii: A review
Diarrhea is the leading cause of infant mortality worldwide, especially in the developing world. Among various etiologic agents within the Escherichia genus, Escherichia albertii is becoming recognized as a significant human enteropathogen. There has been little knowledge about the colonization and infection of E. albertii in comparison to its close relatives, E. coli.

In vitro evaluation of bio-agents and fungicides against foot rot pathogen (Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc.) of tomato
Foot rot of tomato is an important disease which causes severe loss in tomato production. The present study was carried out to evaluate five bioagents and six fungicides against Sclerotium rolfsii. Among the five antagonists tested the maximum inhibition was observed in Trichoderma virens (67%) and contrarily, no inhibition was observed in Bacillus subtilis. Six fungicides viz., carbendazim, captan, tebuconozole, copper oxychloride, hexaconozole and Tebuconazole +Trifloxytrobin at different concentrations (50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 500 ppm), were tested. Among the tested fungicides, systemic fungicides like hexaconazole, tebuconozole and combi product, Nativo (tebuconazole 50% + trifloxystrobin 25%) showed complete inhibition of S. rolfsii at all the concentration tested.

The gene encompassing ORF Rv1885c with weak sequence similarity to AroQ chorismate mutases (CMs) was cloned from the genome ofMycobac-terium tuberculosis and expressed in Escherichia coli. The gene product (*MtCM) complements a CM-deficient E. colistrain, but only if produced without the predicted N-terminal signal sequence typical ofM. tuberculosis. The mature *MtCM, which was purified by exploiting its resistance to irre-versible thermal denaturation, possesses high CM activity in vitro. The enzyme follows simple Michaelis–Menten kinetics, having a kcat of 50 s )1 and aKmof 180lm(at 30 C and pH 7.5)....
