Ben Tre – The Green Land of Coconut Trees
Ben Tre is one of the most famous provinces in the Mekong Delta, loved by many
visitors when they come to Vietnam. It’s often called the “land of coconutswhen you
come here, you can see coconut trees everywhere. The weather here is warm all year, the
air is fresh, and life is very peaceful.
When visiting Ben Tre, tourists will take a rowing boat on the Mekong River, visit
workshops producing handicrafts from coconut shells and coconut trunks, and then you
can try: coconut candy, honey tea, My Long rice paper and Son Doc popped rice cake..
Visitors also like to stop at fruit gardens to eat fresh fruits such as rambutan, mango,
durian, or longan. It’s a fun experience that makes people feel close to nature.
Food in Ben Tre is simple but very tasty. Besides that, there are many other tasty
dishes such as *bánh xèo* (Vietnamese pancake), grilled bananas, …and a special
hotpot called *lẩu mắm”. For drinks, fresh coconut water is the best. It’s sweet, cool,
and completely natural.
In Ben Tre, you can stay in peaceful riverside homestays or small hotels in the city.
The local people are very friendly, and always to welcome guests.
For me, Ben Tre is not only my hometown but also a wonderful place to relax. If you
have a chance, you should visit and discover the beauty of this peaceful land.

the Sêrêpôk River, and listen to many fascinating stories about the traditions of local ethnic
people. In the evening, I joined a gong festival, and tasted the Đăk k coffee it was strong,
aromatic, and truly the best coffee. It was so much fun.
Tomorrow I will go to Dray Nur Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in this region.

natural. On hot summer days, just one coconut can make you feel fresh and relaxed
right away. We can also take a rowing boat on the river and enjoy the quiet countryside.

Bến Tre thường được gọi là “xứ dừa” vì khi đến đây bạn sẽ thấy cây dừa có mặt ở khắp nơi.
Thành phố thì nhỏ và không đông đúc như các thành phố lớn khác, nhưng con người thì rất hiền
hòa, dễ mến, không khí trong lành, dễ chịu. Cuộc sống ở đây thì đơn giản và không quá bận
rộn.
Người dân chủ yếu làm về nông nghiệp, đặc biệt là trồng dừa, trồng cây ăn trái, làm đồ thủ công

Today, I would like to introduce my hometown, Ben Tre Province. Since August 2025, it has
been merged into Vinh Long Province. Ben Tre is also known by other names, such as
"Coconut Land" because when come here, you can see coconut trees everywhere. And the
second name is "Dong Khoi Homeland", with the female general Nguyen Thi Dinh and her
long-haired army contributing to the victory of the uprising movement in 1960.
The city is small and not as crowded, but the people are very gentle and friendly; the air is fresh
and pleasant. Life here is simple and not too busy.
In here, people mainly plant coconuts and fruit trees, making handicrafts or selling goods at the
local market. When visiting Ben Tre, you will take a rowing boat on the Mekong River, visit
