Cấu trúc: S + asked/ wanted to know/ wondered + IF/ WHETHER + S + V (lùi thì) Ví dụ: Anna: “Do you plan to climb any mountains this summer, Joe?” (“Bạn có dự định leo núi nào vào mùa hè này không, Joe?”) → Anna asked Joe if/whether he planned to climb any mountains that summer. Who chỉ người, which chỉ vật. Ví dụ: 1. I know a girl who works as a tour guide in Singapore. (Tôi quen một cô gái làm hướng dẫn viên du lịch ở Singapore.) 2. I'm reading a travel brochure which I picked up in Japan. (Anh ấy đưa cho tôi cuốn từ điển mà bạn gợi ý.) - Đại từ quan hệ who hoặc which có thể làm chủ ngữ hoặc tân ngữ của mệnh đề quan hệ. Chúng ta phải sử dụng nó khi nó là chủ ngữ của mệnh đề quan hệ. Chúng ta có thể bỏ qua nó nếu nó là tân ngữ. Ví dụ: - The man who is talking to the girl is bilingual in English and French. => phải dùng who (Người đàn ông đang nói chuyện với cô gái là người song ngữ tiếng Anh và tiếng Pháp.) - The man who you met this morning is bilingual in English and French. => có thể lược bỏ who (Người đàn ông mà bạn gặp sáng nay là người song ngữ tiếng Anh và tiếng Pháp.) - R3. Read the passage and decide if the statements are true (T) or false (F). The Plain of Jars in Laos is one of the most mysterious archaeological sites in the world. There are thousands of stone jars scattered around the central plain of the Xiangkhoang Plateau. Many jars were dated as far back as 1350 B.C. The jars are in clusters and range in numbers. They are cylindrical in shape and from one to over three metres in height. Archaeologists have not found any stone lids. This suggests that the jars did not have lids or the lids were made of materials which did not last long. Archaeologists are still not sure about the function of the jars. One theory suggests that the jars were used to bury people. Another theory proposes that the jars were used to collect rainwater during the monsoon season. However, Lao legend claims that there were giants who once settled in this plateau. They created jars to brew and store rice wine which they used to celebrate the victories of their King Khun Cheung against the enemy. In 2019, the Plain of Jars became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it is a well-known tourist destination, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. 1. The Xiangkhoang Plateau is in Laos. 2. All the jars are at least three centuries old. 3.
