Sydney Opera House
It is a major arts center which was built on the harbor in Sydney, Australia. It
was designed by the Danish architect, Jorn Utzon. The building was completed
in 1973. Although called an opera house, it is a complex that contains a concert
hall, a theatre for opera and ballet, a smaller theatre for plays, a recording hall
and rehearsals rooms, and a cinema. It is the home of the Sydney Symphony
Orchestra, the Australian Ballet, and Autralian opera.
