Abstract:
Currently, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting job search for students
after graduation is becoming a popular trend in Vietnam as well as around the world. AI
tools are used to create and optimize CVs, simulate interviews, analyze personal skills and
suggest suitable job opportunities. In many developed countries, universities and colleges
have integrated AI into career guidance and job introduction systems to help students easily
orient their careers and jobs right from their school days.
In Vietnam, some universities and colleges have begun to apply AI to support students in
finding jobs, but the implementation is still fragmented, unsynchronized and not very
effective. Besides the obvious benefits, the application of AI in career support also faces
many challenges such as lack of accurate market data, limited AI skills of students and the
risk of dependence on technology.

1. Introduction
In the context of the strong industrial revolution 4.0, artificial intelligence (AI) has been
creating profound changes in many fields, including education and recruitment. In
particular, the application of AI to support students after graduation in finding jobs is
becoming an inevitable trend globally. AI is expected to provide superior job search results,
enhance user experience and bring benefits to both job seekers and employers [1], AI tools
help students optimize their personal profiles, practice interviews, analyze skills and
connect with suitable career opportunities. However, in Vietnam, the application of AI in
supporting student employment still has many limitations and challenges that need to be
given due attention. Understanding the current situation and proposing effective solutions
for applying AI in supporting student employment after graduation is an urgent issue,
contributing to improving the quality of training and the competitiveness of students in the
labor market.
2. Current status of AI application in job search
AI is increasingly being widely applied in recruitment and job search, helping to improve
efficiency and save time. However, there are still many challenges to be solved.
2.1. Advantages of AI applications in job search
2.1.1. Support for employers
AI has many important advantages in job search, helping both candidates and employers
optimize the recruitment process. Here are some specific advantages:

370
Automating the recruitment process: AI supports profile screening, AI helps classify and
evaluate CVs based on the employer's criteria and recommends suitable jobs.
Data analysis and job suggestions: AI uses data from personal profiles, search history and
skills to suggest suitable jobs.
Support interview preparation: AI can provide sample questions, analyze responses and
guide to improve answering skills.
Help employers find potential candidates: AI can scan data from LinkedIn, Indeed to find
candidates that match the company's requirements.
Recruitment bulletin board: In addition to the above tools, job search sites and candidate
databases are also considered useful by many employers. In Vietnam alone, candidate
database platforms are used by many recruitment teams such as TopCV, VietnamWorks,
CareerBuilder,... [2].
Recruitment chatbots: AI chatbots can answer candidate questions, schedule interviews, and
provide information about companies that candidates are interested in.
Candidate analysis: AI can evaluate candidate data on social networks and forums to predict
the level of suitability for the job position that candidates are interested in.
Online interviews: Top online interview tools trusted by many companies and HR
departments include Google Meet, Zoom, and Skype; in addition, there are tools to support
scheduling interviews and meetings for businesses [2].
2.1.2. Support job seekers
Creating and optimizing CVs: AI can help create professional CVs, optimize them by
industry, and suggest suitable keywords to pass the ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
Analyzing job descriptions: AI helps analyze JDs (Job Descriptions) to identify important
requirements, and then suggest ways to adjust CVs accordingly.
Suggesting suitable jobs: Platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed use AI to suggest jobs based
on candidates' skills, experience, and interests.

371
Preparing for interviews: AI can simulate interviews, provide frequently asked questions,
and provide feedback to improve answering skills.
2.1.3. Platforms using AI in recruitment
Some platforms using AI to support effective job searching:
LinkedIn: Suggesting suitable jobs, analyzing skills, supporting professional networking.
Indeed: Suggesting jobs based on search and application history.
HireVue: Using AI to evaluate candidates' interview videos.
Pymetrics: Using AI and neuroscience to evaluate candidates' personality and soft skills.
In general, AI is changing the way job searching and recruiting are done, helping both
candidates and employers save time and improve efficiency.
2.2. Limitations and challenges
Lack of transparency and bias: AI algorithms are sometimes biased due to the lack of
diversity or bias in training data.
Candidates do not understand how to optimize their resumes: Many candidates do not know
how to use the right keywords to get past the ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
Loss of human interaction: Over-application of AI can reduce the direct connection between
employers and candidates.
Security and privacy: AI collects and analyzes personal data, which can easily lead to
concerns about information security.
3. Solutions to improve AI application in job search
3.1. For candidates
Optimize personal profile: Use appropriate keywords, adjust CV according to job
description to easily pass ATS application tracking system.
Use AI job search support tools: Platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Pymetrics can help
find jobs more effectively.
Improve technology skills: Understanding how AI works will help candidates get the most
out of online job search platforms.
2.2. For schools
2.2.1. Building a standardized career data system:
Schools need to coordinate with businesses to continuously update data on career skills,
recruitment needs and market trends.
With a complete database, AI can provide more accurate and practical job advice.
2.2.2. Training students in using AI skills:
Organize short-term courses or workshops on how to exploit AI in writing CVs, practicing
interviews, and finding career opportunities.
Encourage students to proactively use AI tools to support personal skill development.
2.2.3. Developing AI platforms to support career guidance at universities and colleges:

372
Schools invest in building their own AI systems (or cooperate with technology platforms) to
personalize career paths for students right from the first year.
The system can automatically assess students' skills, suggest career opportunities, and
connect interns with businesses.
2.2.4. Combining AI with traditional career counseling
AI plays a supporting role and the final decision still requires consultation from human
resources experts and career counselors.
The combination of technology and human factors will help students receive more
comprehensive and appropriate advice.
2.2.5. Continuous monitoring and updating of AI algorithms:
Ensure that career advice AI systems are always updated with new algorithms, avoiding
outdated and biased or inappropriate information.
Provide ethical regulations when using AI in the employment field (such as protecting
students' personal data).
3.3. For recruiters
Combine AI and human factors: AI can assist with initial screening, but the final decision
should still be made by humans.
Improve algorithms to reduce bias: Use diverse data and adjust algorithms to avoid bias in
recruitment.
Protect candidate privacy: Recruitment platforms need to ensure that candidates' personal
information is kept as confidential as possible.
3.4. For AI Developers
Improve AI Accuracy: Improve models to reduce errors when suggesting jobs or evaluating
candidates.
Build transparent systems: Provide information about how AI makes decisions so candidates
and employers can better understand.
4. Conclusion
AI is changing the way jobs are searched and recruited, bringing many benefits but also
posing many huge challenges. To effectively apply AI in job searching, there needs to be
cooperation between candidates, employers and technology developers to optimize the
process and ensure fairness and transparency..
The application of AI in supporting employment for students after graduation is becoming
an inevitable trend globally. In Vietnam, although there have been certain advances, there is
still a need for investment and clear strategies from vocational training institutions and
businesses to effectively exploit the potential of AI, in order to improve the quality of
training and the competitiveness of students in the labor market.
