In general, this study aims to make an insight into an understanding of the role of cognitive linguistics in instruction on English as a foreign language through an investigation of how basic concepts in cognitive linguistics should be applied in a classroom of English as a foreign language. Arguably, there remains a gap in literature to explore students’ evaluation of pedagogical application based on cognitive linguistics in order to have a comprehensive view of both how application of cognitive linguistics helps improve students’ knowledge of the semantics of the prepositions and how students think of pedagogy based on cognitive linguistics in English language teaching (ELT). Therefore, the aims of this study are dual.
