Self-healing performance of vulcanized natural rubber using MgO/ZnO as a binary activator
Self-healing vulcanized natural rubber (V-NR) was prepared with MgO/ZnO as a binary activator system in the study. Standard Vietnam Rubber Grade 3L (SVR3L) was used as NR source. The SVR3L was vulcanized with ZnO, MgO/ZnO, or MgO as activators and other vulcanizing reagents.

This paper was performed to evaluate the photothermal effect of pure gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) prepared by electrochemical method at different voltages, under laser irradiation in the safe wavelength range. The formation, morphological, and structural properties of Au NPs were analyzed by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Structural properties of a sol-gel generated BiFeO3 and its photocatalytic activity
BiFeO3 (BFO) was synthesized using a combustion sol-gel method from reactants of Bi(NO3)3.5H2O and Fe(NO3)3.9H2O with various complexation reagents. The absorbance and photocatalytic activity of BFO on Methylene Blue (MB) decomposition were studied using infrared (IR) and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

Synthesis and characterization of lanthanum-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles prepared via simple co-precipitation
In this study, spinel ferrite nanoparticles CoFe2-xLaxO4 (x = 0, 0.025, and 0.05) were successfully synthesized via a simple co-precipitation method using a 5% NaOH solution as a precipitating agent. The physicochemical properties of the materials, annealed at 850 °C for one hour, were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM) at room temperature.

Optical characterization technique such as UV-Visible spectroscopy is developed to carry out the investigation. The developed nanofibers have been demonstrated to possess optical and conductive properties to be dependent on doping variables. Study of these optical properties could prove very useful in the development of electrochromic devices and gas sensors.

This work investigates the generation of neutron flux inside lead shielding due to cosmic rays as a function of shielding thickness by use of the GEANT Monte-Carlo modelling code. GEANT allows for the Monte-Carlo modelling of the transport of particles in matter. This includes muons, the particles of interest here, which originate from cosmic ray showers.

How to produce accurate inelastic cross sections from an indirect measurement method?
In this article, we will first discuss the issues of the prompt g-ray spectroscopy regarding the control of all the uncertainties involved in the (n,n0g) cross section estimation. Secondly, we will focus on the role of theoretical modeling which, in certain cases, is crucial to reach the objectives of a few percent uncertainty on the (n,n0) cross sections.

Quantum mechanical and electrochemical investigations on corrosion inhibition properties of novel heterocyclic Schiff bases
The corrosion inhibition efficiencies of two novel Schiff bases, namely (E)-3-[thiophen-2-lmethyleneamino]benzoic acid (T2YMABA) and (E)-4-(5-[(2-phenylhydrazono) methyl]thiophen-2-yl)benzoic acid (PHMT2YBA) on mild steel (MS) in 1.0M HCl solution has been investigated and compared using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization analysis.
