There are numerous supermarket chains operating in Vietnam, with Co.opmart, Big C, Lotte Mart, Vinmart, MM Mega Market, and Emart being the most popular ones. Among these, Co.opmart is managed by HCM City Association of Vietnamese Businesses and was established in 1996 in Ho Chi Minh City with 88 national stores and 33 local outlets. It produces a wide range of trusted products, numbering over 300 product lines and more than 1500 SKUs. Big C, another popular supermarket chain, debuted in Vietnam in 1995 and opened its first store in Dong Nai. Currently, it has 35 large stores and 31 shopping centers across the country with nine locations in Ho Chi Minh City. The products offered by Big C are made domestically under the 'Wow! Affordable' label, as well as 'Bakery Big C'. Lotte Mart, a supermarket chain owned by LOTTE Group from South Korea, is believed to be the first international supermarket to enter Vietnam, expanding into Ho Chi Minh City in 2006 with Nam Sài Gòn store. It currently operates 13 stores across the country and 4 within Ho Chi Minh City. The products manufactured by Lotte Mart include 'Choice' range comprising four categories: fresh food, meat, dairy, and beverages. Vinmart, a supermarket chain owned by Vingroup, was first launched in Hanoi in 2014 with Ho Chi Minh City following suit later. Currently, it operates 57 stores across the country and 16 within Ho Chi Minh City. Its product offerings include 'VinEco' for fresh food products and 'Vinmart Home' for household items. MM Mega Market, a Thai-owned supermarket chain managed by BJC Company, opened its first store in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2002. It currently operates 19 stores across the country and 3 within Ho Chi Minh City. Its products include 'Aro' for branded goods and 'Fine Food' for a variety of food items. Emart, a South Korean supermarket chain with multiple outlets worldwide, opened its first store in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2015 at No 168 Phan Van Tri Street, Ward 5, Go Vap District. Its product lines include 'NoBrand' and 'Emart'.
