  2. 2. RELATIVE PRONOUNS (ĐẠI TỪ QUAN HỆ) Đại từ quan hệ giúp kết nối hai phần của câu lại với nhau. Chúng được dùng để thêm thông tin về người hoặc vật đã được đề cập. 1. Who Khái niệm: Dùng để chỉ người. Cách sử dụng: o Nối thông tin: Đặt sau danh từ chỉ người để cung cấp thêm thông tin. o Ví dụ: The teacher who teaches us English is very friendly. (Người giáo viên dạy chúng tôi tiếng Anh rất thân thiện.) Cấu trúc: [Danh từ chỉ người] + who + [động từ] + [thông tin thêm] 2. Which Khái niệm: Dùng để chỉ vật hoặc động vật. Cấu trúc: [Danh từ] + whose + [danh từ sở hữu] + [động từ] + [thông tin thêm] Lưu Ý Quan Trọng Who chỉ người và theo sau một động từ để mô tả hoạt động của người đó. Which chỉ vật và theo sau một động từ để mô tả đặc điểm của vật đó. Whose chỉ sự sở hữu và phải theo sau một danh từ mà bạn đang nói về. 3. DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSE (MỆNH ĐỀ QUAN HỆ XÁC ĐỊNH) - Là mệnh đề được dùng để xác định danh từ đứng trước nó. Mệnh đề xác định là mệnh đề cần thiết cho ý nghĩa của câu, không có nó câu sẽ không rõ nghĩa. Không dùng dấu phẩy ngăn cách nó với mệnh đề chính. E.g.: The man who met me at the airport gave me the money. 🡪 who met me at the airport là mệnh đề quan hệ xác định * Lược bỏ đại từ quan hệ trong mệnh đề quan hệ xác định: Đại từ quan hệ “who” và “which” trong mệnh đề quan hệ xác định có thể được lượt bỏ nếu nó đóng vai trò là tân ngữ trong câu. E.g.1: The boy who she sits next to at school is my brother. The dog which I am raising in my house is a Corgi. 🡪 Trong 2 ví dụ trên, do “who” và “which” đều đóng vai trò là tân ngữ nên ta có thể lược bỏ chúng. E.g.2: The boy who sits next to me at school is my brother. The dog which is sleeping in my house is a Corgi. 🡪 Trong 2 ví dụ trên, do “who” và “which” đều đóng vai trò là chủ ngữ nên ta phải giữ chúng trong câu.
