This is the level on which most of what we think of as “labor
relations” happen. It is problems that take place at this level
that often lead to worker protests or strikes.
The reason workers go on strike is because they believe:
1)They are not getting their fair share of the value of what
they produce, or
2)Dramatic action is required in order to gain the attention of
management or government, or
3) Anger by worker and direct action as a last resort that will
bring sufficient attention to force change.
