In this research, House's (1977) Translation Quality Assessment Model was applied to evaluate the Vietnamese translation of the novel "The Thorn Birds" by Trung Dung (2015), focusing on two dimensions: Dimensions of Language Use and Dimensions of Language User. This study illustrates steps in evaluating Trung Dung’s Vietnamese translation of “The Thorn Birds”, providing examples of mismatches and errors in comparing the source text and the target text.

This paper investigates the syntactic features and expression exclamations in English in the novel "If tomorrow comes" by the author Sidney Sheldon and its Vietnamese equivalent by translator Nguyen Ba Long. It is conducted with the hope of finding out the similarities and differences between how exclamations are formed in both languages and suggesting practical applications to the learning and teaching of English as a foreign language in Vietnam.

As we all know, English is currently regarded as a worldwide tongue and is spoken in the majority of nations, including Vietnam. However, the structural and cultural differences between the two languages pose translation challenges in translating English to Vietnamese.

The role of translation in language teaching and learning has been overlooked due to the negative connotations with the traditional grammar-translation method. However, during the past few years, many researchers recognised the importance of translation as a pedagogical tool in developing reading comprehension skills. To investigate how translation enhances students' understanding of texts, vocabulary acquisition, and engagement in reading, the authors have utilized a mixed-methods approach.

This research was conducted at a public university in Vietnam where project-based learning (PBL) has been integrated into various courses. Notably, this marks only the second instance of PBL being used in a blended learning format, an area that remains underexplored. The study seeks to examine both students' and teachers' perceptions of the effects of PBL, specifically through the implementation of a Magazine Project within a blended translation course.

Literary translation plays a significant role in the development of any literary tradition. Translation Studies, in the case of The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway, uses a comparative approach to analyze and interpret the similarities and differences between various translations, then clarify the translation strategies of contemporary translators. This comparison aims to highlight the role of internal and external textual factors in translation that affect the readers' reception process.

The study aimed to assess the current implementation of the Translation Internship Module at the faculty of English, Hanoi Open University, so as to propose methods to evaluate the Translation Internship module in accordance with the orientation of developing the capacity to meet the course learning outcome.

This paper presents a study into difficulties in English – Vietnamese translation faced by English-majored students. Although basic knowledge of English with four main skills is delivered to the students at the beginning of their academic courses at university, translation in general causes tons of troubles for them.

The study focused on the translation into Vietnamese of English Preposition Collocations (EPCs) in the English novel “Me Before You” and its Vietnamese version by Tre Publishing House. EPCs were selected as the main data as they are varied in English literary work, and were suggested as one of the challenges for translators.

English legal characteristics create significant obstacles in understanding equivalent meanings of legal normative documents, so translation skills are thought to be essential for legal professionals. For the purpose of training current and future legal translators, this study aimed to investigate the difficulties legal English major students might encounter when translating legal documents.

This study, therefore, aimed to investigate common speaking-teaching methods EFL teachers at Thanh Phu Junior High School in Vinh Cuu District were deploying to teach speaking skills to ninth-graders in their current speaking classes. Twenty English teachers from this school participated in the questionnaire survey while five of them were randomly chosen for the further interview process.

The study also addresses challenges, such as idiomatic expressions and tool limitations, emphasizing the pivotal role of training programs in addressing issues, educating users, and enhancing tools. In conclusion, the research advocates for an educational shift, urging programs to foster critical thinking.

The purpose of this article is to examine the translation processes used by Vietnamese EFL college students as well as the effectiveness of the translated versions in comparison to the original Vietnamese papers.

To achieve this aim, the following objectives are set: Identifying the conceptual metaphors present in the English novel and their linguistic expressions; comparing the conceptual metaphors in the English source text and the Vietnamese target text to reveal the translation procedures used.
